Good for you! Most people should be checked every year. An eye exam isn't just checking for a change in prescription. A thorough eye exam can also spot signs of glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, allergies, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
What? I can't read your post.

Well emberassing to say last time I got my eyes checked was 10 years ago
Actually I must get my eyes checked, I think that my left eye is lazy. Everytime I see through my left eye (I can't see clearly with my left eye...)
haha. As a young kid, I went every six months. I had a very bad case of hypermetropia (argh! I hope it's written like this, in English).
Then, nada for years. I just checked in July, I'm quasi-perfect. Still, I hate glasses, so I'm limiting it at computer screen-watching hours (illogical, yes, as I've myopia...)
sigh. I know I'm terrible...
I've never had an exam. Every time I go into the doctor's office, I stand the required distance away from the testing sign while I wait, and I can always read the bottom row, so I see no need to get them checked. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

My eyesight never changes since i 1st got my glasses, so i never go.
Comic Book Guy
AT60, as I said an eye exam checks a lot more than your vision.
Yes! it is Hypermytropia and that is much less common than Myopia. I, myself am myopic with a touch of astigmatism.
I got my eyes checked last year for the first time in over half a decade. Turns out that my vision was considerably less than perfect in my left eye, but the optometrist said there wasn't much to worry about yet. I'll probably go back sometime in the next few months.
My eyes have been checked about twice.
That was 5 years ago *lol* Maybe I should get them checked again...
I get my eyes checked every year. It's required at my school.
Same here. I get my eyes checked every year, because the School Health Services people come around every year.
I actually get mine done every six months cos I wear those all night/all day contact lenses
I used to get them checked every year. Now it's more like every 2 years.
I've never had my eyes checked
It just never came up
I have to get it done every year because every time I run out of my dailies contacts and need to order new ones, the insurance company requires an eye exam. Grrrrrr
every year since I was 5
gues who's skipping this year
Every year, my mom schedules the appointment for me. I hated it, the first time I went (I was 7) They told me,
"You need glasses, badly."
The doctors told me I've probably had bad vision since I was 5. I never saw things so clearly. I never knew my parents had grey hair. [face_shocked]
Whenever I am close to running out of my disposable contacts. It usually works out to about every 2 years.
That's a really weird insurance Ariana. Unless you replace your dailies yearly, it's a rare insurance indeed that requires exams more frequently than every 12 months.
Every year. When I was a younger teenager, I needed them at least that often because my eyesight changed so rapidly (for the worst). Now, a year is fine. I'll probably be moving it up to two years or so when I get to college.
I used to get them check yearly, but now it's more like every two years.
Every 2 Years. Eyes are important, but I can see for myself how they are doing.
