Census How shall I avoid going bald gracefully?

I've noticed that as I've entered my 40's I've begun to thin out up top. This irritates me, as I've always had luxurious locks, and now it seems that age and testosterone are taking their toll on my scalp. So my question to you miscreants is obvious....how do I desperately cling to the idea of youth, vitality, and vanity?

I've been balding since I was 21 (31 now), and I've just let the process continue in the natural way. I haven't noticed any significant progress in the last five years, though.

 

I've had thinning hair as I got older (all I know is I must've gotten it from my mother's side of the family), so I decided to shave my head periodically. It isn't so bad, if you do it every few weeks or so.

No one in my family has really balded, so I'm holding on to hope that my hair will stay with me. It started going gray in my early twenties, but I think it looks good, personally. I'd never dye it. With all the depression I've gone through, I kinda feel like I've earned my gray hair.

I am either going to have the fate of my dad and lose my hair by the time I am twenty or I have my mom's genes and have my hair into my sixties like my grandfather.
