A continuation of this thread. It was a great discussion, informed and passionate, with many voices, and there's still a lot more to discuss! We talked about: *grade reform *charter schools and flexibility *advantages/disadvantages of alternative models like Montessori and International Baccalaureate. We didn't get a chance to discuss the merits of No Child Left Behind reform, Race to the Top, or the general political situation on education in different places yet. Education reform from places outside the United States should also be examined. Something else to discuss might be to learn which countries/states/provinces/cities are the highest-achieving in education. Then we could find out what they're doing that makes them give their students such a high-quality education, and how it can be replicated. So many other possible topics too... let's begin!
