How to become a member?

How does a person become a member of the Las Vegas fan force? Where do you guys meet?

Hello. I'm MoronDude (Jonathan) the Chaper Rep. for the Las Vegas Fan Force. I'm very glad you found us.

As for how to become a member, it is the easiest thing in the world. Just say, "I want to be a member", and you are one. We have lots of members, some of whom I have never met, others I meet with on a weekly basis.

Where do we meet? Well, unfortunatly, we have not had a public meeting in almost a year. When a big event comes up (like a new Star Wars movie) we post all the information here and anyone who can make it will meet together at the event. Our last big event was the IMAX opening of Attack of the Clones at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. The next major event is the Las Vegas Comic-Con, which is october 31 - November 2.

So, let us know some things about you. Have you lived in Vegas long? What Star Wars or Sci-Fi activities do you enjoy? What other hobbies do you have?

I am currently a student @ UNLV and have been here for about 2 months. I heard about the con coming up and was thinking about dressing up with some of my roommates. We thought it would be cool to go with others that know the region better(leave it to us for being from Reno, NV).

Star Wars is essentially my number 1 activity. Though I have been linked with Dune, the Wheel of Time, and loads of popcorn, add mountain biking, and blood shot eyes caused from hours of movie watching (Scifi, horror, action, etc.). I mainly get all of my scifi info from off the internet.

We used to have monthly meetings in the MSU, but it was inconvenient for some, and we were really just getting together to socialize. Actually, if you are really interested, you may be able to help us regroup and get a bit more active. If you have any suggestions, you can post them on the board or PM me.

 

Does it count if you're originally from Las Vegas, but live elsewhere?

I'm Dave. I was born and raised in LV, but jave lived in NYC for the last 9 years. I get back to town twice a year (next up for Christmas). Does the fan force have any holiday activities planned?

Just asking.

 

At the moment, we don't have any holiday activities planned, especially since this time of year, it is extremely hard to find a time that will fit everyone's sheduals. That being said, if you do want to meet with the members of the Las Vegas Fan Force, post the dates when you'll be in town, and we may just throw something together on a day or night that some people will be available for.
