How to Get your Girlfriend to play Video Games

Look if you want your girlfriends to play on video games why don't you tie her to a chair hold a gun to her head and give her a controller. And just if anyone thought I was serious it was a joke and I'm not insane.

What's funny about that? I sure thought you were serious. In fact, I do that all the time. It works pretty well. And just if anyone thought I was joking, it was serious, and I am insane. Honestly.

my girlfriend thinks today's games are way too complicated.

we have yet to sit down and play some good old-fashioned snes games, though mainly because we find other things to do.

 

Oh yeah, my wife plays old arcade games like Pac-Man & Donkey kong via MAME, and also has a bunch of game we DL'd for her palm pilot, such as tetris, lemmings, & some arcade classic clones.

She's not very good at them, though.

 

Say it's the absolute latest and greatest thing, and that it's "in", according to a really girly sounding magazine that you've made up on the spot.

 

In my experience the only game girls like is Mario Kart.

 

There's only one way I know how to get girls to play video games:

Maybe if games were made having a target market just a little larger than the male one, it would be easier for girls to enjoy videogames. I for one was very glad when I knew about the character personalization feature in the new Jedi Knight game. I'm very *very* tired of having to play games playing male characters just because the programmers don't bother putting an extra 3d model and pack of voices in games. Not that hard to do.

And I loved Baldur's Gate 2, but playing with a female character included the small problem of me only being able to have a romance with one guy who was just so damned annoying I wanted to kill him.

 

My wife always pretty much hated video games until we bought Animal Crossing. Now she's hooked. She even beat The Wind Waker before I did.

I have a girlfriend, and she LOVES video games...She just got a PS2 and she's playing FFX, digging the whole thing. I told her she needs to play Zelda though...she really loves RPGs...*sigh*...It's a wonderful thing, I'm so lucky to have girlfriend like her!


BTW In my experience, girls are very competitive and beat me all the time...maybe because I just suck?

 

Nute, you get off too easy. I have to WORK to get my girlfriend to play video games. Imagine how hard it will be for me to get some action...

Yes I love video games, I have many games for N64 since that is the only game console I have, and I have Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which I am playing right now, but I'm not very good at the Spirit Temple.

 

The mario kart thing is the truth. One girl I know also liked mario party. Another one of my friends is crazy about Halo... imagine that. She'd probably kick my ass though, since i've never even touched an X-box.

 

Mario Kart! That's the only video game my wife will play. What's the deal with Mario Kart?
