I am arguing with some douchebag at my school on the spelling of "padawan". He spelled it "padawon" and I told him it was "padawan". He told me that spelling came around after The Empire Strikes Back. I'm not entirely sure about that, but regardless I think it is irrelevant as it has been spelled "padawan" for as long as I can remember and that spelling is widely accepted as the true one. So, which one is it?

    Just ignore him.

We all know its always been spelled Padawan and never Padawan.

Phonetically though it is pronounced pæd^wan or pæd^w^n depending on your dialect.

An early 1973 note by GL has padawan spelled as "Padawaan," but there are no references to "Padawon."

    It's Padawan....

    O.K.

From a guy who has to put on Disney ears instead of a blast helmet for a living.
