How was anakin the chosen one of jedi prophecy?

    he killed Palpatine...

    ...and therefore brought balance to the force (IMO) - even if he did get lost and take the long way round.

    He must of missed map reading for Jedi's class when he was a Padawan :D

    It is only by Return of the Jedi that he completes the prophecy, hence the reason it is a six film saga.

    To complete the prophecy, he must destroy the Sith. First he destroyed the Jedi, his son will build a better and stronger Jedi Order.

    In the end, all is balanced.
