ST How will the romances play out?

Will we have to wait until Episode VIII to see the romance(s) blossom?

Will we see love triangles?

Love at first sight and all is merry ever after?

Couple or couples gradually falling in love?

Will we see two romantic pairs? If so, who?

 

I hope they will play out by never happening at all. The only romantic pair should be Han and Leia, and I expect that to be rocky at best.

I think Finn's going to awkwardly try to express his feelings, and Rey is going to reject him (as she has eyes for the dashing Poe Dameron). See the scene below. But I expect that after their ordeal together, they will have a moment in the medical bay where Rey realizes she likes Finn on a much deeper level. Either that, or she straight up friendzones him.

I can't say anything about any new characters, having not seen the movie yet. However, I would love to see Han and Leia again in some romantic moment, whether it be a kiss or a warm embrace. The rumors don't hold any high hopes for this, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

 

The rumors suggest a potentially touching scene between them before Han heads off to the Evil Castle. I strongly suspect that they reconcile at this point. Perhaps bonding over the possibility of getting Kylo or Rey back. Something tells me it's very likely that you will see intimacy between them.

 

Just to let you know, rumors that Han & Leia are not together is only based on speculation. They could very well be happily married, we don't know for sure yet.

Well, so far the rumors from MSW on on your side. Han also allegedly tells Leia that he'll "hurry back." That suggests that they have become intimate again.

 

Okay, I'll say it: this movie is co-written and directed by the guy who made Uhura and Spock a couple. So get ready to go "Whaaaa?"
