PT How would you have taken the character of Anakin Skywalker?

You've failed to connect with any of my points, but that's okay.

 

The point that Anakin is atypical, which I think is where the character starts to fail, in my opinion. It is my belief that the audience would have connected more with Anakin's fall if we could relate to him. Very rarely does the GA care about a character arc if we can't relate to what he's doing.

"Well, we choose Anakin because he's not like everybody else. He's special"

The only things I'd change would be some of his lines in the first two films, and tighten up the narrative so his turn to darkness isn't so quick. Overall, I like about 90% of what Lucas did with the prequels.

 

My friend Hikaru always said they should have made him an Asian because Anakin was supposed to have been a great pilot, and, as I know all to well, Asians make the best pilots.

In all seriousness, I agree with the opinion of Prequel_Rubbish but also think he should have been closer to Padme's age in the first film and played by the same actor throughout. I think I would keep Qui-gon as the one who finds him (Liam Neeson was a rare positive of the PT) and kept the same plot line involving his character.

 

I wouldn´t because he´s fine the way he is.

 

Nothing in the OT suggests that he wasn't one. And you know why? Because the special part of him is not necessary to tell the story of the OT. But it's relevant for the PT and the development of his character (which extends to the whole saga).

 

Which is why I would've changed it.
