How would you describe the Saga in a broadstrokes fashion that accurately captures what the saga means to you and what about it would appeal to the uninitiated?

"You know how awesome it is when you combine peanut butter and chocolate? That's what it's like when Star Wars combines science fiction and fantasy. They're visually fantastic, and tell a classic story. On top of it all, they're a lot of fun."

"Ready for a magical space adventure in another galaxy? Then let's do this!"

    - I'm gonna be the first one to see 'em all!
    - Luke, at that speed, will you be able to pull out in time?

"Aw man, it's like...laser pistols, swords of light, spaceships, all these different creatures, cool characters n' all that good stuff. What's more? It draws you in, and you get to live the experience through the action and drama that is taking place on the screen. You're gonna like it...or your money back."

A cinematic masterpiece that draws elements from things such as operatic Greek tragedy, Othellian ideology, Shakespearean romance, comedy of literature, all with the touch of science fiction fantasy

    IE it ruined my life

One simple rule....watch them before reading 'fan' reviews on the internet.

I'd love to watch the films for the first time again

Really I just tell people it has Darth Vader in it, so if they aren't watching it immediately, then they should watch it immediately.

I wouldn't. I'd just strap them to a chair, Clockwork Orange style, and make them watch it.

This is more or less what I'd say. Star Wars is essentially the archetypal Hero Saga that just happens to be set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Mythic space-knights with laser-swords fight evil mythic space-knights and robot-soldiers battle armored clones with laser-rifles in an epic good-vs.-evil coming-of-age action movie. Six times in a row.

    OR:

Mystic space-knights with laser-swords fight evil mystic space-knights, in space, while robot-soldiers battle armored clone troopers with laser-rifles, in an epic good-vs.-evil coming-of-age action movie. In space

I would simply tell them, "It's a movie for a more civilized age."

And then I would kidnap them, tie them to a tree (I'll drag the tree in the house so no one is suspicious) turn on the Blu Rays, and simply say,

    "Trust me, you'll like it!"

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away a young boy grew up to become the very thing he swore to destroy and with the help of his children he was redeemed.

Fun movies that are more then your summer popcorn yarn. They have great characters, a cool story, a good mix of drama & humor, and mythological themes too.

Thrilling action romps interrupted here and there by some surprisingly sophisticated themes and mood-driven character moments. Visual masterpieces--especially I-III.

I'll take a stab at this....

Star Wars is a vast opera set in space of love, politics, tragedy, morality, family and sacrifice for a greater good; all set in a far away galaxy. In this colorful and visually breathtaking story, Mysterious events culminate into a tragic occurrence, which changes everything for the worse. An epic battle for freedom follows, led by the main characters and knights, guided by the mystical energy which binds the galaxy together. Biengs, creatures, machines, and exotic lands are all caught in a desperate struggle between good and evil...

With unparalleled visual effects, sound effects you have never heard before, and some of the greatest orchestral score ever made!!!

I'd pitch real carefully so as not to hit them on the head with the Blu-Ray box set.
