Instead of telling Jar Jar "Don't do that again" when he grabs his tongue, why didn't he say "How wude" instead? It would have generated laughs from the audience and would have given Qui-Gon a sense of humor.
I think the scene is funny enough on its own terms. Qui-Gon just casually telling Jar Jar to stop always gets a laugh from me.
I really liked Qui-Gon the way he was. I don't think the maverick Jedi needed a sense of humour, let alone something weird like that.
wrong actress. It was the Olsen twins who said "How rude" on that horrible show. As far as the topic, the dialogue is fine the way it is.
No...it wasn't the Olson twins...BothofUs was right. No, it was the character of Michelle, mispronouncing rude in a cutsie little way, played by the Olson twins. She had all sorts of cutsie little sayings, but "how wude" was one of her tag lines.
I think the middle sister always said it at first, then, like in real life, the younger sibling followed suit.
Qui Gon cannot take the place of C3PO. But Jar Jar could. Which brings me to the coolness of that tongue grabbing. Qui Gon tells Anakin "you must have Jedi reflexes if you race pods" and the next moment its Qui Gon who demonstrates exactly what he meant. All thanks to Jar Jar.
Sorry, it was originally Steph who said "How Rude". It was her trademark until Michelle started to say it on the show too.
Qui-Gon could have also taken out his lightsaber and impaled Jar Jar. That would be equally funny and audience pleasing. I guarantee it.
Not it wouldn't, because Jar Jar is one of my favorite Star Wars characters (seriously) and I really don't want to see him dying.
