    Hey all,

I thought I'd come on line and vent to you all, my deal E'ville pals.

My truck was broken into this weekend at my Knoxville apartment. They smashed windows, took CDs and the MP3 player. They also took 100 of my West End Games Star Wars Minis, about half of my collection. I had them in a grey case, and had been showing 100 of my best work to area hobbyshops to get commission work (after the Bucket Kesh, after the Bucket). The cop said that the crook probably thought it was a gun case and took it, then threw it away.

I looked in every dumpster in my area, but only got disgustingly dirty.

I'm pretty broken hearted about the whole thing. At somepoint, I will post a "this is what I have left" post, and if you all don't mind, responding with what is missing. As in, if you remeber me painting a really cool Yoda, and yoda is not on the "what I have left" list, then I know that they took Yoda.

I will paint again, but this just sucks.

I know you all can feel my pain. The cops didn't. "Little painted what?"

Too bad you couldn't have found help from sci-fi loving cops - like the two cops seen in that movie titled Superbad. Those two cops would have sensed your deeply rooted pain over this bit of robbery. Those two cops would have exhausted every avenue of investigation. They would have found your missing work and shot them robbers until they were very - VERY - full of lead and were most certainly dead! But unfortunately we live in a world that cares very little about the pain of the sci-fi collector and hobby builder. The only thing I can do for you is to quote that immortal 1980s song lyric 'So take these broken wings and learn to fly again'. :( Like that song suggests get back on your horse...er, uh...ronto and finish the Bucket - then the Beast. That should ease the pain a bitty-bit. [face_flag]

Thats not cool at all. No problems at all with posting a list. Anything that might be of any help at all.

Is there anything I should be checking eBay for?

Thanks guys, it really means a lot. Yah, I will post a list here when I am up to it, and we will all figure out what all was stolen.

On topic; SSM put their star wars contest pics back on line, including a dio by you know who.

    http://www.starshipmodeler.org/contest11/dio_07.htm

Thrawn. If you are out there. Crawling in some dumpster, or in some crack head's appartment, you are remebered.

I know they got most of the figs in the above pic. I did contact my mini dealer, and he will check and see if he has some of the old West End Games in stock.

The amannaman is definitely cool, and that rancor is HUGE!

My only question is this... can Han in Carbonite actually be a useful mini?

Yeah the Han in carbonite can be useful for recreating Robot Chicken's skit with Boba making sweet love to Han's frozen form. Finally Boba emerges from 'the closet'. [face_laugh]

Lukes toothbrush! +2 Plaque Fighter, controls tarter.

    Wampa Droppings! +1 Horrible Smell

PlyWood! Covers Thermal Exaust Ports (requires estimates)

    Howdey Y'all,

Just an update, if you can, wish me luck, or the force, or what have you. I just had an interview at another University. One that is much closer to the Tri-sate (about 95 min.) starts with an "I" and ends with a "U-branch campus". Really have my fingers crossed about this one: less students, closer to home, and a free place to crash for those of you going to Wonderfest.

Anyway, if you want to, send a happy thought to the powers that be.

If I had some strings to pull with the IU powers that be, I would pull them for you. But alas, most everyone is concerned with sports scandals and.... well, mostly sports scandals.

Those IU branch campuses are the way to go. They get tons of the perks from the big university, but are nice and small and whatnot. Can't beat that location too. :)

    Worked for me too!

Sorry to be so cryptic before-- I didn't want to jinx it.

I will be working for IU SouthEast in New Albany, a big change from the huge Rancor that is UT. I will be a part of an 8 person office dedicated to students' accademic sucuss. However, I will be in charge of students with disabilities. I will have about 80 students with all types of disabilities. Currently, I work with 340 kids with dyslexia and ADD. So, this will be a nice change of pace-- and a much more manageable case load. No more 12 hour days (I hope) just to answer all the emails from my little "snowflakes."

So, less work (well, we will see), more cash (not a lot more), and 90 minutes away from fanforce HQ durring the best summer for star wars fans since the last best summer for star wars fans.

    Yay!
