    Some salient details:

    -The New Republic exists, and the First Order is a splinter faction of the old Empire who have gone to the 'Unknown Regions' to establish a presence there.

    -Han Solo lived happily ever after, after the battle of Endor, living as a 'family man', untill a great 'tragedy' struck.

    -Starkiller base is NOT the headquarters of the First Order.
