ST Humor in The Force Awakens

After seeing the Avengers movie two times, I love how the movie is so GOOD, and humor is witty and smart. That did not bring down the movie's quality whatsoever.

Not going to spoil any of the lines from the Age of Ultron, but then I thought about TFA.


Hopefully, this movie will have a lot of witty and smart dialogs as well. You know who I think will probably provide a lot of humor?

And, Rey (Daisy Ridley) will provide a cross of Leia/Han humor as she is probably their daughter.

Finn (John Boyega) I think will have a Karl Urban (Bones) of Star Trek type of humor.


Adam Driver (Kylo) will probably have a dark and sadist humor.

Oscar Isaac (Poe) will probably have an energetic, upbeat light humor. Or cocky!

 

I'm sure Han will provide some humor to us, as usual.

 

Carrie Fisher is Hilarious.

Hope they give her some one liners - "I don't know where you get your delusions laserbrain"

 

Carrie/Leia is, hopefully her daughter (Rey) will carry on that trait, if she is truly their daughter.

 

Poe may be able to provide some humor also.

He seems experienced\cocky.

 

I hope Carrie gets to use something along the lines of "I was getting along just fine until you two moonjockeys showed up". My favorite deleted line in all of SW.

 

I heard a rumor(I think I did anyway ) that C3p0, and R2 are the only real comic relieve in the film, anyone else hear that from while back? That being said CR and humor are different..
Ps, was the teaser shown before AOU?

 

I'd like to think there'll be both in FA.

I can't say about IMAX or 3D, but my good ol' 2D Age of Ultron had the trailer. Outside of Tomorrowland, it was the only upbeat trailer shown. (Seriously, that Batman/Superman movie looked as depressing as a funeral.)

 

There's humor already in the trailers. But I don't think Adam drivers character should be there for humor, I want to take the villains seriously.

 

I want Star Wars' characters to elicit many emotional reactions from us. I want the audience to laugh, cheer, boo (in a good way ), feel dread and terror, get nervous when our heroes are in danger, feel all warm and fuzzy when they bond as a family or as romantic interests, cry or feel sad when someone dies, etc.

I want a trilogy full of emotions and characters I deeply care about.

 

Dark, and sadist humor can actually be scary. It depends on the delivery.

 

There should be humor. Just as there is in life. But I hope it's not overly self-aware, self-satisfied, smug, talking over each other Avengers - style humor.

 

No farts or poop.

 

I agree with this, but I also hope it's not Jar Jar level slapstick either.

 

Of course not. I never understood the concept of "comic relief." People are humorous animals (either intentionally or not). Especially in difficult situations. Just portray that.

 

Fortunately with Lawrence Kasdan on script duties, I think the humour will be tasteful and inspired. I think there's potential for some really dry humour between the players in this story.

 

We need Jar Jar. Enough said.
