So Vin Diesel is Groot.

I was only 90% certain that I wanted to see this, but the inclusion of Vin boosts it up 8.53 points.

 

I don't know if I'd call it locked in the bag just yet. It isn't the first time that we've seen a pic from Diesel that hints at certain Marvel characters. And it's only that pic and a rumour that the connection is being made upon. Yet when you have a look at the original tweet that started it all off, I would think that it would be for a role requiring more than Groot would. Additionally there is a 'vague rumour' from 'an inside source' that says Rocket would be voiced by Sean Gunn, with the citing of James Gunn saying "cameo, not quite" in regards to his brother appearing in GotG.

Personally even though this is probably being influenced by a personal bias, but I think that they have them the wrong way around and Gunn will voice Groot while Diesel with voice RR. But I stand read for the likely fact I'm wrong, and don't mind if it is the other way around.




But also a complete off-the-wall thought (mainly because I watched Fast 5 with a friend recently), if Diesel voices Groot, what if Dqayne Johnson voiced RR? "Can you smeeeeeeelllllll..... What.... the... Rock-et.... IS..... Cooking?!?"


Okay, I'm going to go give myself an uppercut for that last one......

 

I'd love to see Vin Diesel sign up for a movie where he only has to say "I AM GROOT" over and over.

Frankly they both look amazing. Rocket especially looks a lot less cartoony than I was expecting.
