Guardians passed How to Train Your Dragon 2 to become the 7th highest grossing movie of the year and is now gunning for the "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" spot, which is should hit by mid October.

 

I now wish Rocket only spoke Japanese in the film.

 

I saw it and really was entertained. I thought it was going to be more for the kid crowed, but that wasn't the case at all. I was either laughing or caught in the action, except for the beginning were it was all sad. No problem with seeing it again.

 

saw this today. few questions

i get that the one evil blue dude with the hammer was kree but what about the other blue dudes? are they also kree or are there a lot of blue pastel aliens? what about the pastel pink women? are they female kree? because i noticed there were only female pink aliens and male blue aliens (with the notable exception of the angry robot lady, maybe she's another species that happens to be blue, or the evil purple dude dyed her blue when he was altering her into a crazy robot critter)? how about the pastel yellow extras? what's their deal?

i did catch that pastel green zoe saldana was the last of the pastel green people, so that's one pastel race accounted for

 

That post is super racist dude, I didn't even notice the color of their skin. Why would you focus on that? Seriously, wow.

 

Blue people are Kree.
Pink women are another race.
Nebula is a blue robot.

 

i noticed you neglected to mention the yellow people, or why we saw 4 different pink women but no pink dudes (afain)

well they had djimon hounsou who appeared with his natural, black complexion despite portraying a kree which, as far as i can tell, are all blue/green in the comics?

also lee pace's career has gotten really weird of late. remember when he was basically the low rent/television version of ryan gosling?

and am i the only one who thought benicio del toro was brad pitt in this movie?

 

Well, to be fair, Korath was on the bluish-grayish, robotic side.

Still, the cast was pretty diversified.

 

In the comics, most of the Kree are blue with a small percentage of them having "pink" skin which basically means they look human.

 

From the clips I've seen, I like the color scheme of this movie.

Is there any Oscar buzz surrounding this movie as of yet?

 

No, nor will there be any. This movie is about the money.

And it's a lot of money. Guardians is about to open in China, which may bring its final global box office total past X-Men: Generations to make the Guardians the most successful Marvel superheroes of the year and their movie the most successful Marvel character intro film since Spider-Man in 2002.

True, it's not Dark Knight or Avengers money, but the sky's the limit for the sequel. $1 billion worldwide looks like the box office floor unless they flub it entirely.

When I think about all the machine gun-toting raccoons I'm going to see at my door this Halloween, it makes me want to move to Europe.

 

Any word on the street date for the Blu Ray/DVD and will there be a one shot included on the BD or will they skip that as they did with "Winter Soldier?"

For some reason I'm hoping to see a Winter Soldier.

 

Kinda annoyed to look at the Amazon listing and realize that the Blu Ray doesn't include a standard DVD disc. If the Blu does end up with an exclusive one shot, then I'll be buying it for myself and buying a DVD for Dad and Mom.
