That's not the same. Knowing that a trailer will air during a certain program (especially the Super Bowl) is nothing new. What is new are the 10-15 second trailers that only tell you to tune in to watch another, slightly longer trailer.

To be fair, it's become a pretty common practice to tease the bigger super bowl commercials (non-movie ones) with quick clips, since they're arguably as important as the game itself to the viewership.

That said, usually films will only do these teases for the actual trailers, not TV spots.

You know now that Ruffalo has been established as Bruce/Hulk, a part of me do hopes he at least cameos in some of the other individual Avenger films going forward, especially with the leaked news that came out tonight (which has been mildly discussed in general Marvel movieverse thread)

Possible spoilers from Lego sets ..

Looks like Pepper may be the one donning a suit during the house attack to save Tony (I'd assume it's her sliding down the angled floor in the trailer- maybe Tony is the one in the water since he seemingly has a suit afterwards).

Just discovered that Marvel published a 2 part Iron Man 3 prelude series over the past few weeks which has some interesting details on events between IM2 & Avengers as well as some details regarding IM3 which would technically no longer be considered spoilers at this point because of it.

I don't have time to do a detailed summary right now, but the highlights:

Iron Man 3 Prelude said:

-Stark removed all the Hammertech from the Mark II and built a brand new all-Starktech suit calibrated for Rhodey (which explains how there can be War Machine and a Hall of Armor Mark II in the same film, and probably explains the 002 markings on the suit pics we've seen). Leasing it to the DOD for use is a condition of keeping Iron Man in Stark's ownership.

-While Stark Tower is being built (which doesn't happen until after the cleanup of the Stark Expo battle in NY), Rhodey is doing multiple missions over seas, finding the same weaponry being issued to multiple terrorist groups with no other connections or shard ideologies. He begins following the trail of the Ten Rings from these clues.

-That trail leads him into a trap in Hong Kong. The Ten Rings wanted to get their hands on Starktech and decided Rhodey would be the easier target. He's ambushed by multiple Ten Rings agents as well as an enhanced, stolen, Hammertech tank (with working ex-wives).

-It is during this confrontation that Stark contacts Rhodey, asking for his assistance during the Battle of New York. Rhodey is over an hour away even at supersonic speeds and is otherwise occupied with the Hong Kong fight.

-After emerging victorious in Hong Kong, Rhodey heads for NYC, but doesn't arrive until the immediate aftermath cleanup is already taking place. He meets up with Stark at the Shwarma joint, seemingly moments after the scene in the movie.

-Sometime later, Rhodey meets up with Pepper in Stark's Malibu house, where Pepper is redecorating now that she has moved in with Tony (Rhodey says "congratulations to both of you", so I'm guessing they're engaged?).

-Downstairs, Tony explains to Rhodey that NYC showed him that he has to be prepared for a wide range of situations, opponents and environments. Iron Man, even with a War Machine backing him up, is not enough. So, he has JARVIS show Rhodey "the wine cellar", introducing him to multiple Iron Man suits: "the Iron Legion" (we see at least a half dozen).

-In the aftermath, a Ten Rings underling reports to the Mandarin on the failure at Hong Kong, explaining that while they may have failed to capture the suit, they managed to collect invaluable data from scanning the suit with every device they had. "We now have all we require to wipe Iron Man from the face of the Earth".

So, Cap gave us HYDRA, IM1 gave us SHIELD, Thor (kinda) brought us SWORD and now IM3 brings us AIM. I wonder if the events of the Avengers might eventually be the genesis for introducing ARMOR at a later date? Any more acronyms left?
