That's the Mark 1 armor. The first suit of armor he ever builds. It's basically out of spare parts so he can escape from captivity.

And I'd think Stark would be an idiot to go up against the hulk in that armor. :p

Yeah, the armor will eventually look like this:

Arg! Rachel, I didn't get to stop by the Marvel booth when they had the suit uncovered because I was at other stuff. But yeah I was also at both panels and so I saw the footage 3 times. I'm so stoked.

Just wish the t-shirts they gave us were a wearable size. I'm so sick of getting free XL shirts. Yeah, that's a great way to get me to walk around advertising your film for you!

Oh yeah, and Favreau was a hoot. I also loved Stan Lee sitting cross-legged on the stage so he could see the footage and Downey taking pictures of the crowd with his camera phone.

Make it a trendy shirt and tie it at the bottom, Rach. Or make it a night-shirt. ;)

I love how Stan Lee during the Marvel Panel just got up and walked toward the edge of the stage to turn and watch it on the jumbo screen. [face_laugh]

    Shame on you all. [face_shame_on_you]

You should love Stan Lee ALL THE TIME!! [:D]

He is like every geek's surogate grampa.

But yeah I got tingles down my spine watching the footage of both suits. I was hoping for more of the modern take but I understand wanting to save some. While I am glad I saw some, part of me wishes they had have kept it more under wraps.

They've pretty much kept the Iron Monger armour in the dark, though. No scenes of armour-to-armour fighting in the preview, which I think is smart. They're still holding a few cards close to the chest, and seeing Iron Man against Stane in his battle-suit is a good card to hold back.

I have faith in the people making this movie, they don't seem like the usual hype-merchants.

You're welcome. Nothing extravagant, but I figure somebody might use it. :)

So yeah the trailer news posted above comes with an update...and good news/bad news.

    Good News:
Originally the trailer was supposed to be online September 11th 2007 at the Quicktime website. That hasn't changed but as reported here now it will be available 10PM EST September 10th (This coming Monday) at Movies.MTV.com for 24 hours.

    The Bad News:
IIRC MTV's website has a policy that some of its content is only available in the United States. I could be wrong but anytime I try to view a video there, it tells me I am out of the accepted region. I hope this last part is entirely my mistake, but it looks like some people may have to wait to see the trailer first.

To reiterate what I said previously *FANGIRL SQUEE*

    Oh Hells yes!
That rocked my socks off just as much if not more than Transformers.

Robert is fantastic! I can't think of a word to describe it but his Tony Stark is exactly what I expected, he's very...Deadpan.
