As for Motherwell, it is sad actually but i think it further highlights the case that there are two many middle tier teams in Scotland and if mergers don't happen in local geographical areas then Motherwell (and Airdrie) will be the start of a domino effect.

I think this proves that as the league is no one can compete with Rangers and Celtic. Motherwell spent about 11 million all told and it didnt get us anywhere. What does that say for everybody else?

And as for merging with other clubs. I dont think merging with Airdrie would do much good. We`re both skint.

I suppose I can just get behind Thistle and hope they gub Rangers. Fingers crossed.

 

Well Donaldson. I agree with you.

I am scunnered that the smaller teams can't compete because this is where our stock of Scottish players are and they need the experience!

My solution? Teams...and I mean ALL footie teams, should only have 1 or 2 foreign players. I hate the fact that footie is about money and not the game now. We should be investing in our own scottish boys...and not paying so many millions for the latest Italian or Spanish players!

 

Well Minx it looks like Motherwell are now 19 players worse off, and it looks like we`ll lose another load over the summer. We do have quite a few young players that if given time could make a great team. That is if they arent flogged off like those guys today.
I mean what kind of treatment is that? They were just told out of the blue that their contracts had essentially been torn up, then to bugger off. I`d be so pissed off If I were in their shoes.

 

Sounds a bit like my job here at the Open University...bunch of feckers.
