What I truly hate is that the novel I,Robot was re-released but with Will Smith on the cover despite the stories between book and film being different and does not center upon a police officer.

What? That is an awesome movie.

While I mostly like Will Smith, I gave this a pass, but now find myself strangely wanting to watch it.

    Thanks alot David.

I'm not as big a fan of Will's work as I used to be. "ID4", "Hitch", and the "MIB" films are good, but "Seven Pounds" was disturbing, and I couldn't get into "The Pursuit of Happyness". Also, Will's tendency to put his kids in his projects seems to be overkill; why not let them make it on their own?

I had a friend tell me what the point of the movie actually was and I was so sure he was pranking me that I went online and read the plot summary. Weird.

So did I. It was a nice exploration about the meaning and consequences of attempted redemption and self-sacrifice. Certainly, it could be difficult to watch at times. There was a fair amount of ambivalence in it, and one could see the ways that what was happening was both destructive and compassionate. It is a good entry in Smith's line of serious dramas.

That 27% from RottenTomatoes is certainly enticing.

I really liked I, Robot too. Never understood all the hate. I'd rather watch it and Wild Wild West than In Pursuit of Happiness or Seven Pounds.

Praise Will Smith movies by devaluing other Will Smith movies. DIABOLICAL!!! You may have caused Wocky to malfunction.

Is there a reason for that misspelling? In the movie, I mean? Because there had damn well better be.

I actually do like Wild Wild West, despite it bearing virtually no resemblance to its source matter because I really like the rapport between Smith and Kline. Though, to be fair, I'd like the rapport between a rutabaga and Kline...

I saw 5 minutes of Wild Wild West. I regret that 5 minutes of my life was devoted to it.

More... less... far as I'm concerned, they're both quite in line with what I'd expect from him.

The only thing I remember from that movie is Shia Labeouf. And the converse all stars product placement. And Chi McBride racking the shotgun in super slow mo right when that sort of stuff was becoming overused thanks to directors like Zack Snyder. And GASOLINE EXPLODES!

Considering I, Robot was 2 years before 300 I don't think we can blame this on Zack Snyder... I'm pretty sure his Dead film didn't generate quite the same level of buzz, however well-received it was...

I remember getting the sunglasses via a Burger King promotion, along with the delicious Western flavored burgers that came with it. I've never seen the film, though*.

*But that song associated/made for the film... it's so damn catchy.
