Try enticing it out with some piccalilli. Beetroot is renowned for it's hatred of piccalilli and seeing some of the yellow stuff in the open air might just be enough to force it out.

Barring that, ask somebody else to open it... :)

DQ If I did that, then the pickling liquid would spill everywhere!

MR Would that work with Sandwich Spread?

Anyway, all I have to hand is

    5p
    digital metronome
CD "The BBC Big Band plays Glenn Miller"
An audio tape - contents unknown
    A floppy disk
    A Television Licence reminder letter
    An unopened minidisc
    a box of matches
    a lighter
    3 rechargable batteries
A framed signed photo of Ron Lobeck
And an unopened jar of tesco value sliced pickled beetroot

I did have a mobile phone, but I've mislaid it

"Would that work with Sandwich Spread? "

Depends what flavour it is.... Beetroot and Sandwich Spread have a long and convoluted history, with lengthy periods of peace interrupted by the infamous Branston Pickle Uprisings (which saw the forces of Sandwich Spread allied against Beetroot). It's worth a try, I suppose.. :)

Try playing the mysterious audio tape. Perhaps it's instructions on how to open a jar of Tesco Beetroot............

Any ideas on how to open the Sandwich Spread?

played tape. It's a copy of a vinyl recording of "Godspell". It hasn't helped :(

    I'm getting really hungry now

well, if you can't open the Sandwich Spread either, then I'm afraid you deserve to perish.....

Try showing it a picture of me.. that'll scare it out if nothing else does!! :)
