I don't get it...

Why do people insist on keeping their hairstyles and clothing styles from the 80's? I mean, yes, I was in high school in the era of rattails, pegged jeans, blue eyeliner and Capezio shoes, but I grew out of it!

When I see people with big 80's hair and acid washed jeans I just want to cry out, "Why God?! WHY!?"

Would you rather all the girls wore short shorts and skin tight shirts and boys wear clothes falling off of them? I happen to like 80s clothes and hair! Not that I wear my hair or clothes that way.... but I think it's cool!

 

Bah. I'll grow my hear out, wear a tie-dye t-shirt, and wear a peace medallion. See how ya like that.

 

How can you keep wearing stuff from the 80s? It doesn't seem like it would be commonplace in stores nowadays. Unless these people are still wearing the same clothes they wore in the 80s, then those are vintage and cool, right?

I was a big fan of the "jam" type shorts that were so popular in the late 80s. They were like wearing your boxer shorts on the outside. It's too bad they don't make a comeback.

 

Well, I supposed if you kept your acid wash jeans from the 80's or stopped at Goodwill for some clothes you could find them.

It's just amazing, though, I see people wearing that kind of stuff more often than I'd like to. Most of the time it's the big 80's rocker chick hair that I see. Women just don't give up on the hair spray I guess.

 

Well, in Texas, having big hair is like being the "alpha-female" I believe. Either that, or there is a vast Aquanet conspiracy going on to give everyone bangs so big, that they can work as antanae for humans.

 

Aquanet...the industrial strength hair cure all. I mean, that stuff will eat through paint!

LOL! You're reminding me of a tape I saw of the Bangles performing a few days ago, and I actually rather like their big hair and unique clothes I would seriously dress like that! I mean, I don't, but... I would. or something Bangles =

 

Mmmmmmm, big hair. If I wasn't on dial up I'd try to find pictures of Heart and Falco in concert. For now, though, you'll have to just imagine "Rock me Amadeus" and "These Dreams" being played with bright colored spandex.
