"I don't sense anything"/"I sense an unusual amount of fear..."

    Does anyone else find it odd that at the very beginning of TPM Qui-Gon tells Obi-Wan he doesn't sense anything at all about the mission, then five seconds later he turns around and says he senses an unusual amount of fear?

    No, it's not odd at all...

    The Neimodians only begin to fear when they discover that the "ambassadors" are Jedi knights.

    No, it's not odd. Remember, Qui-gon is more attuned to the "here and now" of the living force. At that time, there was no fear from the Neimoidians.

    There was fear though once they found out the ambassadors were Jedi Knights.

    At that moment, there WAS fear.
