Well, I think it's difficult. I mean, there wasn't much in the way of marketing for AotC or the Special Editions. I think you'd have to be a fan to make a dent. Then, to be honest, I think HK really did get into SW. I mean, a local chain store sold out of the special SW t-shirts they made. I see people wearing them all the time.
Could the shop be Bossini? My sis did bought for me a few TPM T-Shirts back in 1999 from Hong Kong (her husband was posted there then) but they never arrived in Singapore; not like now. We got 17 different designs, ranging for from Kids to ladies to Men to buy! Ouch!
It's cheap cause it's "locally" made, very mass produced and of thinner fabrics. Compare the Bossini and BATA ('99) ones to US SW T-Shirts I have, it's a lot thinner and smaller sized; but since it's Black most of the time, who cares. The AOTC ones here are SGD10 each, which comes to about US$5.50. Ya, before there's this guy selling 'em on eBay for US$15-20 each so he's ripping the buyers off.
