I grew up with both the Original Trilogy and the Prequels. But for years now I've hated the Prequels and never watched them, why? Because that's how it's SUPPOSED to be.

I agreed with all the nitpicking and such and realised that these movies sucked.

But recently I heard that they were running on a Swedish TV station during a weekend. I decided to watch them and give them a second chance.

Boy, what a nostalgia trip, I experienced these movies I loved as a child that I had not watched in years, again! Sure, there are flaws, and they are not as masterfully written as the originals, but if you do not nitpick every single aspect of the movie(which you should never do), the movies are pretty good actually. Show the gradually fall of a hero and turning into a monster.

Episode 3 is damn good! If The Force Awakens becomes anything close to that, I am already satisfied.

We all make misstakes, and I am young(17 years old) so I guess it's not that much of a big deal.

Feels good to have found my love for these movies again, now the saga is complete for me once again!

I'll finish watching The Clone Wars now. :D

I like the sentiments that you express, but "forgive"?
Oh well. Welcome back to our family of love! [:D]

EDIT: TCW rocks! I still haven't seen the Lost Missions, but I reckon it'll happen very soon. I can't wait!

To forgive in true SW style, you need to snap your prequel DVDs in half, toss them on the floor, and say, "Apology accepted, Prequels."

What an odd way to accept an apology. [face_plain]

Glad to see you want to watch TCW! :) I'm curious, where did you leave off on TCW?

    Tell that to Vader!

(By the way, my comment had nothing to do with liking or disliking the prequels, I just saw the word "forgive" in the title, and my mind connected it to that scene in ESB. NOT trying to turn this into yet another PT bashing thread!)

The PTs dont need forgiveness, they tell a great story, motivated John Williams to a create a far more superior score than the dusty OT and gave a long list of great characters. With no PT we have no Qui Gon, Padme, Dooku, Jango, Mace, Nutt, Jar Jar, Maul, Sebulba, Shmi, Bail or Grevious. Planets like Coruscant, Naboo, Kamino, Mustafar, Geonosis and Utapah would have no visual reference. The PT is too necessary for any apology to anyone.

I think the OP did a fine job expressing himself. I am likewise glad he has decided he enjoys the PT. :)

On the converse, in-depth analysis (or nitpicking, in a more positive connotation) is what allows my love for SW to blossom so strongly. There is no way you're "meant to" view SW, or anything else for that matter. Just watch it with the mindset that makes you happiest

I believe Rabs that they are striving to convey that they realise this now that it is they that has changed prospective and realise for them there isn't cause to be upset over the PT. (If misinterpreted, I apologise).

I'll never forgive the prequels. It was too hard a blow to find out that Jet Li wasn't Boba Fett.

The prequels feel much privileged to have earned your forgiveness. They are truly grateful they won't need to be redeemed by Force Awakens anymore. Missed Purgatory by one mark they just have.

*Cue-in Han's look as he realizes he won't be supper for the Ewoks anymore*

There are things I enjoy in the prequels, especially the lightsaber duels and Palpatine's manipulation of the Separatists
