New Jersey I got me a promotion

During the course of the next few weeks, I'll be training to become the new manager of Shop-Rite Liquors of Freehold. This is certainly great news. My boss even figured in my love for Star Wars in everything. This is what it says on the employee list now:

I wasn't an assistant manager at all. I was just a worker. But now that one of the long-time morning manager guys left, there was a need for another manager so they gave it to me.


I will come bearing gifts on the 29th.

Marie you woulda loved this today even though you don't like liquor......


We get a delivery today from Federal Wine Co. It's only one pallet but it costs $7,600!! So they open the truck door and we get the forklift out to pull it off and what is it?? A pallet filled with 40 cases of Jack Daniels Single Barrel Extra Fine Whiskey...40 bucks a bottle. But that's not it...also included on the pallet...shipped straight from Lynchburg, Tennessee...is the wooden barrel in which every single bottle of whiskey received on the pallet was aged in!! A 55-gallon wooden barrel burn-engraved and containing a plaque with the store's name on it. This was by far the coolest thing I've ever seen in our store...and I get to build the display tomorrow!! WOO-HOO!!!!

 

NIce. I remember setting up promotions and getting the freebies. Ah the good old days.
