True that but is Donald Glover going to shave before he starts shooting? cuz right now I'd put money down on Beard Lando being a thing

 

You shouldn't call Lando's girlfriend a beard.

 

So I'm thinking we should see plenty of aliens in this film. But at the same time perhaps not considering the last two Disney movies have in my mind been a bit low on alien life compared to the likes of the prequel trilogy.

 

Thandie Newton is in it too, which is awesome. I do hope we some of those characters as maybe aliens, maybe WH, maybe TN.

Yeah Michael K Williams is one of the best actors we have, and I am so looking forward to see how he fits into the Star Wars galaxy. I hope he's a good guy., or at least a mentor for the younger characters.

 

This movie is shaping up to have a pretty strong cast.

Han rescue Chewie
Han win the Falcon
Han and Lando's last meeting before ESB.
and of course lots of Cameos and Easter eggs.

That name doesn't really sound all that Star Warsy, so it could either be Woody just making something up on the fly, or that name could be a placeholder like Kira and Sam were.

Seriously though, for me, it's no less Star Wars than Luke, Leia, Ben, Han, Cassian, Konstantine, Ezra, Ursa or Tristan.

According to Wall Street Journal reporter Ben Fritz, the Han Solo movie will follow him from age 18 to 24 and feature him meeting Chewbacca, finding the Falcon, and getting his name. Really hope that last part is a figurative "he made a name for himself by taking the riskiest jobs" kind of thing, because I want Han Solo's name to be Han Solo. Unless it's also Sheev.

Everyone knows Han's name is actually Greedo.

 

Yeah, I was going to bring up that it sounds perfectly like it fits the same universe where people are named Cassian and Ezra. Uncommon or not-quite-earth names, but recognizable. Beckett is more common as a last name, I'd think, so if this is his first name, it's uncommon enough to not be unusual. And yeah, there are also people named Luke and Ben, so there's that.

 

The name Luke makes me think of the saint who wrote a significant chunk of the New Testament and was martyred for his faith. Good name source for a space monk.

The name Beckett makes me think of a long-haired yuppie member of a 90's boy band. Not a good name source for a space smuggler.

 

I hear Beckett, and I think, "That's the reliable guide for selling baseball and other trading cards." - So the name for a guy who might be knowledgeable about dealing with pricey stuff in a second-hand market/smuggler? I'd take it

Also: There's Thomas a Becket, Archbishop and Martyr, murdered by Henry II's Knights. Right up there with Luke, ne?

And for all we know, Woody Harrleson!Beckett IS a Church of the Force sagely mentor, and events surrounding him lead Han to his cynical conviction that anything claiming to involve some All Powerful Force is a hokey religion filled with simple tricks and nonsense.
