I'd be more worried about Carl Crawford being a double agent for the Rays.

Sox collapse, Patriots suck, Bruins really suck*, NBA is locked out...feels like the 90s again in Boston.

*I don't actually care about the Bruins. Bring back the Whalers!

Sadly the Patriots do not suck, just premature fan meltdown because they lost 2 games in a row for the first time in years.

Well, I do live in Boston.

And, to just answer some other questions, no, I didn't ten years ago when I registered. I don't remember why I chose this username either. I think it was aspirational (ie, I wanted to go to college in NYC or live there or whatever). I've always been a Boston (sans the Bruins) fan.

Tim Thomas is a giant arrogant twit.

As much as I loathe Boston area sports teams, I don't disagree with that Thomas did/didn't do here. So what? It's his right as a free citizen, and in my humble opinion, the tradition of sports teams going to the White House (after winning a title) is a bit silly/overrated to me.

    Los Angeles Lakers: Drama, guaranteed.

That's pretty much how I feel.

I don't have a big problem with it. He looks somewhat silly about it, but no sillier than Harrison, who didn't twice because he allegedly hates flying.

He says I'm not going, but I'm not going to say anymore about it. It is now all about him.

    He also likes Glen Beck.

    Nuff said.

That's unfortunate... we've literally got all the infrastructure ready to go here in L.A., venue wise anyhow. Obviously some things here & there would have to be done, but not as much as Boston I'd imagine.

And that traffic nightmare you're thinking of? Traffic miracle for the '84 Games. I've asked many of my relatives who were alive at the time about it before, and they say it was some of the best -if not the best- conditions to drive around town that they've ever experienced. It can be done again.

Boston is the best city anyways.

Just visited Boston on Thanksgiving. I admit, I had always met the idea of Boston as an Olympic city with a lot of skepticism, but after being there, I can really see how they could pull off a great Games. I say this being a proud member of the San Francisco Bay Area, too.

As for SF, what can I say, but oh well. Maybe we'll get our shot in another couple decades or so.

Tunick, I too wish it were in LA instead of Boston. I know literally no one except politicians and property developers that are pleased about this.

Ideally, we'll start improvements on the ramshackle MBTA like, tomorrow, and then not win the bid to avoid the hastle.

    Boston for the Olympics?

    HAHAHAHhahaaaaahahahahHAHHAHAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

No seriously that's the worst idea ever. Boston is the best city ever but it's also the most poorly designed city ever. It's why conventions usually try to avoid it. It's pricey, the streets are a mess, public transportation is hideous, and they've got a backlog of construction projects going back centuries. It's going to be a complete CF.

Don't worry, someone will outbribe bid, and they'll end up third or fourth in the voting anyways.
