I have a question about Anakin's death.

Ok, so I'm about halfway through Dark Journey right now, and I'm getting really confused about Anakin.

The way I interpreted Star By Star was that the Force brightened Anakin's cells and then Anakin himself disappeared. Then later in SBS, I think I remember a mention to Anakin's body, but I just kinda didn't think about it.

But then in Dark Journey, Jaina and the others take his body with them and then Leia sees it ...

So, did he just not disappear like I though he did, or something weird going on here?

 

I'm under the impression he didn't disappear, but the kind people at the F.A.D.A. HQ v 2.0 - Bigger, Better, and More Not Dead thread will probably be able to help you better.

 

His body did not disappear. In SbS, Anakin was just "gone."

However, it is worth noting that in Dark Journey, the body which was recovered from that Vong cocoon and that Jaina analyzed up close was described by her, his own sister, to not look anything like him.

I'm not contemplating if he's dead, I'm trying to figure out how he died.

 

I think that it was more a case of the person who was Anakin Solo disappeared, his body was just the remains of whatever part kind of transcended to become part of the Force (in a metaphysical kinda way )

When Jaina says she doesn't recognise the body, I took it to mean that Anakin was so vital and full of life that he was unrecognisable when that life had left his body.

Well his body was fine intil ther set it on Fire on Hapes.

Actually, have any Jedi faded away in EU? I only know of two ever doing that. *shrugs*
