Yes, I was really little too. Ended up accidently adopting a pregnant one and ending up with a bunch of them [face_laugh]

*grins* the problem is always to find someone who adopts the younglings :D

Well, the political stuff was good. The other two-thirds of it were not so good :p

    Hah!

Chapter 6: In Which a Miraluka Ruins Jaina's Life

    Nieus P. Sovel

    [face_laugh] =D= [face_laugh] that will be fun :p
has he already learned to defend himself with his umbrella [face_whistling] :p

? acclaimed Sullustan writer, mathematician, crackpot philosopher?

    *grins* crackpot? [face_laugh]

went on in his classic, Choices and the Sentient Being, to explain that a sentient life could be summed up by a few key choices one made at the defining moments of one?s life. He called these moments, these turning points in all of our lives, Essence Points?... Is it any wonder this masterpiece was an intergalactic bestseller for more than five years?

*grins* and his testobjects were surely well known celebrities, long dead ;) :D

During my two days here on Charfour, I have found myself recounting many of the Essence Points? of my own life, that Sovel would be sure to assign a mathematical value and tell me whether I was a good person or not. As near as I can tell, there are two types of these defining moments that the droopy-faced Sullustan must have been referring to.

*mental image of Sovel telling Jaina her Essence Points?*
    [face_laugh]

    *snap-hissss*

    :D

He doesn't admit it though, adding a formula for the unexpected that I can't begin to understand, his reasoning being that the decisions that follow, I.E. my decision to fight at Dubrillion rather than flee, are character determining.

can?t figure what you mean with I.E.

I was drinking champagne, he was sipping on some disgusting vegetable juice.

[face_laugh] I can Jace doing such disgusting thing

I love my brother, Force knows I do, but it's become increasingly clear that in many situations, the boy is completely useless. I'd have been better off going to Threepio for advice!

[face_laugh] ouch for Jace ... Goldenrod rocks :D

So anyway, when I did meet Voanes Malu, I was happy, my head filled with silly ideas about the Force guiding me, thanks to Jacen. It was only a matter of drinks before we were trying to get the Miraluka Jedi to tell us what she saw in the Force like some party-working fortuneteller.

bad disicion ... she should have trusted the Force with the bad feeling ;)

As you can imagine, this was a very frightening thing to hear, but I remained glib, drunk on the evening and expensive champagne. "Hey, I'm the Sword of the Jedi, I know that sort of thing will always be a part of my life..."

didn?t she got told that she will never a peaceful life or something like that? :p

    "You will kill Jagged Fel."

I am so curious what she is going to do...
does she the same thing like her grandfather? [face_thinking]
trying to save the loved ones o_O

I am curious how Jay managed to read Sovels book in the first place, it looks more after Jace to do such thing ... :p ;)

    Anyway, well done
looking forward to the next part :)

Sorry this is going to be a short response this time!

I love the way you weave the "crackpot" Sovel philosophy into Jaina's narrative.

Trust the Force... what is that? Look at where the Force has gotten me.

    Pure Jaina.

Oh, ok, thats what I thought. I just wanted to be sure. I didn't want to get banned or anything.

    Yes we will

    [face_devil]

'm glad you won't be disappointed Jaina's going to need a good lawyer.

    :D

Yeah, I guess you're right. That is pretty disappointing

    [face_worried]

I'm kidding I think it's cool that you're trying to write so much of it before hand

    O:) Thanks.

Okay, I'll see what I can do. Be prepared for a bombardment of PM's

Are you suggesting Jaina will murder her father and marry her mother? I'm pretty sure that plot line won't fly around here...

I was really refering to all the elaborate measure they went to, to try & prevent the prophcey, only to set it in motion. :-B

I'm sure Voanes didn't mean any harm

I am curious how Jay managed to read Sovels book in the first place, it looks more after Jace to do such thing ...

Maybe it was required reading in school or at the academy :p Or the book was just so famous everyone knows parts of it without having read it... or Jacen made her read it.

I do not appreciate being disparaged and I certainly do not take lightly the misrepresentation you have given Choices and the Sentient Being.

Do you have any idea what it's like to not be able to walk down to the spaceport without someone calling you an idiot, simply because they do not understand your genius?

Chapter 7: The Galaxy's Tentative Hold On Luke Skywalker

Four Chiss soldiers who had survived a gunboat crash found me last night as I was resting briefly. I suppose they imagined they'd gotten the drop on an Alliance pilot in a vulnerable state.

The survivors of the Battle of Chafour didn't live long.

I was on my feet with my lightsaber in hand before the first one could aim his charric, and the last thing any of them saw was a sweeping blue light before I allowed them to become better acquainted with the Force than they ever had been in life.

It was easy? it's always been easy for me. Many people know me as a great pilot, but what they don't realize, what the four Red Eyes found out last night, is that when it comes to a lightsaber, I am the best. I don?t say this to brag; it?s nothing to gloat about really. It's simply the way it is. The Force directs me, and I am its killing instrument.

    It makes me a murderer.

And it is murder. Everytime. Especially when I'm facing someone who doesn't have a Wampa's chance on Mustafar of surviving. It's a war, they are my enemies, but it is anything but impersonal. When you slice through a living being with a lightsaber it's fast, but you're there for the entire moment. With the Force you can feel their agony, their life being extinguished...

How's that for the energy whose will we're supposed to obey?

And what's worse, what I've never admitted to before, but since I'm dying anyway I see no reason to deny now? A part of me loves it.

Perhaps its because I'm good at it... Perhaps there's simply too much of my grandfather in me. I don't know, maybe all Jedi feel this way.

I've never denied at the end of a rout victory against the Chiss or the Vong, when my squadron hasn't lost anyone and I've demolished every enemy in my path, a sort of post-coital satisfaction that comes over you. I know the other soldiers feel it too, we even talk about it sometimes...

I don't know if it's wrong, I don't really care at this point. I just know it's there.

You want to know the secret to good lightsaber fighting? Yes, it's the Force, of course, Jacen, but besides that, the sheer mechanics of wielding the weapon? Don't let the shiny blade and the quick slashes, spinning, lunging movement fool you? it's all in the foot work. Every movement, swing, parry, spin? all rests on your feet. It's also the hardest part of it, but that's the way things go sometimes.

I can't say it's ever been incredibly difficult for me though? but then, I can't help but believe in destiny can I?

    "You will kill Jagged Fel."

Yes, those words ruined my life, but they weren't the first. Here are some others spoken by my uncle:

"I name you Sword of the Jedi. You are like tempered steel, purposeful and razor keen. Always you shall be in the front rank, a burning brand to your enemies, a brilliant fire to your friends. Yours is a restless life, and never shall you know peace, though you shall be blessed for the peace that you bring to others. Take comfort in the fact that, though you shall stand tall and alone, others take shelter in the shadow that you cast."

    Essence Point! ?

The galaxy nearly loses a farm boy every time I think of that little jewel of wisdom Luke Skywalker decided to bestow upon me.

I probably should have tossed my lightsaber at him and ran off the stage that day. There was my choice, if I ever had a choice, but I stayed with it. I trusted the Force...

When the Miraluka told me what she saw me doing in the Force, I didn't believe her. I couldn't. I loved Jag. What could possibly drive a wedge between us, let alone lead me to murder him? But after my uncle's words at my knighting, and what a burden that had become, how could I not be a little apprehensive?

So listen to this: after my life was doomed for the second time with a statement by the Force using someone I know as it's talking head, where do I turn?

    Jacen Solo.

Yes, I know what you're thinking, but he's my brother, and he's also ve
