I just got my copy of Star by Star through the mail yesterday!

I ordered a copy of Star by Star from the
kiosk of my bookstore Chapters.ca and it came
yesterday just when I was about to go to work. And the book won't be coming out till
the 30th. I was suprised. I wasn't expecting
it to come in the mail till November. But
it was my lucky day. The book is 606 pages
long. It's really thick. There's lots of
action in it. I'm gonna start reading it
right now!

Great, now I have to run to all the stores and look for it.

At least we have a confirmation of the page count.

I know, I know. Thats why I always said I didn't think a big book = a good book.

But SbS... yum. From the excerpt it seemed very nice. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I hope I love it.

606 pages... wouldn't that make this the longest Star Wars novel out there? Of course, the margins might be larger than those in VotF, and the print could take up more space.

 

did it cost that much? if not I think I'll be going to the bookstore today...

 

$26 in the US. $40 in Canada. No idea anywhere else.

I have a good feeling about "Star By Star". Troy Denning is a good author- I really enjoyed his five book Dark Sun series, The Prism Pentad. Plus I corresponded with him several years ago over e-mail about AD&D and Dark Sun in general, he's a pretty much decent fellow who I enjoyed talking with. He was far more open in discussing Dark Sun than Margaret Weiss was about Dragonlance at any rate.

 

Why can't they come out early in the US where I live, they're always a day late or so.
