    And Centurion punches Omega's! w00t!

I know many forumers play or have played M&M. I have to say it's my fave superhero system, if not my fave game system, period. I've long toyed with the idea of a low fantasy M&M games, and the release of the Wizards & Warlocks supplement makes the idea even more likely.

ITT we discuss the game, share anecdotes and stats, and are totally awesome.

I like it but have nobody to play with :(

It's fun just building guys though. I like it enough that if I had the $ I'd invest in True20, which I understand is similar but not-superhero focused.

A couple of weeks ago I broke out the old Marvel Superheroes FACERIP Game, used its random table to make a few characters. Forced myself to make all the random results make sense (if you've played it, you know what I mean) then converted to M&M. It was the most fun I've had since...well since the lotion came out later that night.

Yeah, building M&M characters is absurdly fun.

And True20 is awesome. I'm still trying to get my buddies to convert from 4E but no luck so far. :(

I haven't studied True20, how does it fit with M&M?. Is it a straight fit or do you have to upscale/downscale between systems?

Yes, they are different. There are classes in True20 (only three abstract classes though) and character levels (more or less equivalent to D&D levels). It's the M&M design philosophy applied to standard d20, I guess. I've never tried converting between systems; monsters should be easy to do, though.

Ah, that's too bad. I thought it might have been my holy grail of Transformers/GI Joe/Supers/Regular people.

Speaking of Superhero games, can't help but reminisce about Magnet Man. Think I rolled him up in MSH, he had some magnetic powers, and was a complete idiot. He's been converted between all the major superhero systems as a villain, of the sort that...he's always the idiot on the villain team. No idea how to use his powers, charges in, gets punched out right away. Never develops or learns anything, just the same jerk via 10 years of gaming. I still have the original drawing of him, he even *looks* stupid. <3 the little freak though, been carrying him around forever :)

That's so cool. I do have a pet character too, kind of "Doctor Who with a longsword". Being a dimensional traveller that first originated in my oooold AD&D campaign, I've been able to make him cameo in M&M, Traveller, Shadowrun and Planescape campaigns. Good fun. :)

Always holds a nostalgic place in my heart.

Was the second pen and paper rpg system I ever played, and our first campaign became very iconic and mythic for our future M&M games that we all set in the same universe.

I'll have to write up some of our craziness in the future.

Gotta love superhero gaming, ultimate GM hand waving. If a player argues with you, you just point at the last 60 years of comics, cuz its happened at one time.

If they argue more, you just Crisis on Infinite Earths them.

Alright I've tried 109835 times and I just don't get the system for building characters. Specially, something like a Battlesuit or Batman w/Utility Belt. Everytime I've played I just re-arranged points on an existing character.

I really wish there was walk-thru for those concepts.

I would be tempted to buy and learn the game for no other reason than to get the Wild Cards sourcebook for the character stats. I have an old GURPS Wild Cards book I still flip through at times.

Just saw that 3rd edition is in the works, and they have a deal with DC and will be publishing books based on the DC universe!
