Zekk smiled, taking Jaina's hand, beginning to lead her onto the dance floor. They were married! After so much heartache, so much dancing around each other's heart, they had finally come to the point at which they realized they loved each other. He wondered what he had done to deserve a treasure like her.

Ten years ago, [i]Sithspit, it feels like yesterday[/i] Zekk mused, they had been polar opposites: he was like a moth, cloaked in the shadows of the underbelly of Coruscant, and later, the Shadow Academy. Jaina, a butterfly, had rescued him from his own darkness, showing him the way to light and love. Then, during the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, he'd run away when she'd needed him most. In turn she came close to marrying another man.

Those doubting days

When the Colonel she was engaged to died in a fierce battle, he was there, comforting her. He wound up rescuing Jaina from herself. That was when they realized they needed each other. Their love was strong from the get-go, he had faith that it could weather all obstacles.

Time has taught me this
I will fly
And you'll be there to guide me
Straight up to my hearts highest wish
I feel you close to me
And I know what love is[/i]

Each had rescued the other from harm many times, both emerging the stronger from the encounter. Together they soared like two thrantas towards stars of silver.

That I could not reach the other side

And nothing can come between

No night can darken, oh[/i]

[i]No, not two.[/i] They were one, utterly inseperable, like two pieces of a puzzle glued together with bonds of passion. Their souls had merged over the years into one, emerging a thousand times stronger. No force in the universe could ever hope to pry them asunder.

If one of them felt any sorrow, the other soothed it without effort. He realized he'd been a fool to doubt their love for even a second.

A quiet opening
There's no words that can go that deep

Their bond was like the oceans of Mon Calamari, deep and bountiful. Mortal speech faltered at describing their relationship, [i]Heck, the Force is barely up to the task[/i].

"Jaina?" Zekk murmered, in awe even of her name, honey on his lips.

"Yes, love?" Her beautiful brown eyes - intoxicating as the brandy they resembled - met his.

"I truly, deeply love you." He wispered the words through a kiss.

 

*sighs* Awwwwww

That was very sweet... I loved it. The analogy with Jaina being a butterfly was great.

What a very sweet piece!

I'm just the one who tends to mimic catchphrases. Thanks, I thought the moth/buttrerfly thing was totally J/Z, too. And yes, Jag got vaped, but that's beside the point.

 

I liked the moth and butterfly comparison too!

This line also seemed to stick out:

Beautiful. A wonderfully written piece!

I also liked the description of their Force connection...not too much unlike Luke and Mara, I thought.

Thanks. the thrantas one was a spur-of-the-moment one. And I did go all L/M on ya.

 

I loved it! It was sweet! And Jag's dead, so that's a bonus! (Apologies to any Jag-lovers, I'm allergic to him.)

Why yes it is. I'm surprised you noticed, since this part of the story is still a ways off. Two of my other songfics, A New Day has Come(near the end of Winds) and I Love You, Goodbye(4 months before Winds) are also a part of the Renewal arc.
