Due to "Company Restructuring", they decided to lay off a bunch of people at my job. They let go 2 whole shifts and are now doing just one split shift.

I had survived a few other rounds of lay offs in the past, so I was totally shocked when this happened, I didn't see it coming. They even got rid of 2 out of 3 supervisors for first and second shift.

Sure, work's been slow, but it always slows down a bit during this time of year. But it always picks up again. I don't know what they are going to do when it does. I guess they will have to hire a bunch of Temps who don't know what they are doing.

If they called me to come back, I'd probably just want to tell them to go screw themselves.

That was never the best job I've ever had anyway, the pay was crappy and I was tired of working those swing shift hours. I've known I needed to look for a better job.

But I hate looking for work and get complacent. Sometimes I need a swift kick in the @$$ to get myself going on things like this that I don't like doing.

So, as much as I hate looking for work, I'm trying to look at this as a good thing.

Loreen, if you want to be a paratransit driver (Fixed Route, Dial-A-Ride), send me a PM. It may be out of your way though; the yard is in Paramount. However the company I work for trains you to upgrade to a Class B license, and airbrake option.

Nope, not the greatest job in the world, but...!

I am so sorry, companies never reward loyalty anymore. The good thing is, it's the holidays and LOTS of places are hiring.. the bad thing, most is merely temperary.

I've actually been working as a Temp for the past few weeks at another electronics company in Anaheim. It could become permanent in about 3 months, but I'm still looking at other places, as well. At least I have some money coming in and I'm getting off my butt and out of the house.

    Thanks for the concern.
