Well Star Wars fans, I have discovered something. The all time box office cumulative gross for "Star Wars" is $460,998,007 (year 1977). This is ranked #2 beneath "Titanic" with a cumulative gross of $600,788,188 (year 1997). "Titanic" made $139,790,181 more than "Star Wars" - twenty years later. I believe these rankings are misleading, especially if inflation is not considered. If considering the cost of inflation, "Star Wars" would actually make $1,269,382,854.05 if released in 1997 (more than double)! Thus, "Star Wars" actually made $668,594,666.05 more than "Titanic". Now, when the box office rankings are published, is this considered? I think this is a valid argument that should prompt some questions. My feeling is that Star Wars should be considered #1. - RFB
