I live in there pretty close, and I'd have to disagree with the assessment. I've lived in crappy cities. This isn't one of 'em.

You just can't get enough of taking the opposite side as me can you?

Thanks for explaining that, Theedage. I thought you were referring to cars or something. Anyway from what I saw of Boston it's far from crap. I'm sure there might be bad neighborhoods, but I didn't walk away from Boston thinking the place sucks. It's very much a big city, but I found it to be a refined version.

Ed, have you ever lived in this city? Or have you just visited?
Don't call a city crappy until you know it personally. :)

I want to visit New Orleans, London, Tokyo, Edinburgh, and Milan before I make a decision about the best city in the world.

There are other great cities too. San Diego, in my opinion, is one of them.

Oh, I like lots of cities, and there are plenty I'm dying to see (London being the top of the list). L.A.'s cool, I like New York. Richmond, VA, is kinda nice, and so is Portland, OR. Washington is just... Washington. Toronto is the ultimate Great Lakes city (Chicago move over; I like Toronto better). Outside North America, I liked Toledo, Spain a lot, and Cordoba was sort of neat, as well. (I'm not very well travelled, and Spain is about the limit of it.)

Buffalo isn't my favorite city--or even close to it--but I do have to say that it's widely underrated. They used to have a sitcom based there and I knew it wasn't made by Buffalonians when they had characters make a big deal out of the fact that there was a little art gallery ("Ooo! I thought that was a crackhouse!"). People who live there know that there are tons of art galleries: the big Albright-Knox, and lots of little private ones. And it's a two-dollar mass transit bus ride to get to Niagara Falls, which is cool. Then you can walk across the border, which for some reason always gave me a kick.

But Boston is the best, for my money.

I love Boston too. I think it's my favorite.

Other cool cities I can think of are London, Dublin, Belfast, Paris and New York.

I want to visit Tokoyo, Hong Kong, and Sydney.

I've spent much time in boston over the years and I've seen very much of the city. Why do you ask? Well... my hockey team played teams that were based in boston, BU and BC, Northeastern. Also, a few soccer teams had fields there.

So I've seen much of the city and from what I've seen, it does not impress me.

Well I must admit it is interesting to see an entirely opposite opinion from the majority in here. We can't all like the same things!

London is a great city. I was there...wow...must've been April Vacation in 7th Grade.

I haven't been to Boston a whole lot, but I like it.

Washington D.C. is another great city, as well as NYC.

Maybe once Boston finally finishes the construction I will move to the 'it's a good city side' but for now almost every place I've been is under construction which makes it pure crap for driving, walking, and overall look.
