Eh, it could just be behavioral. IME once they pick a rug/couch/etc they like to do this with, it can sometimes become a real habit (for dogs and cats). That being said, I think others are right and that it's time to call the vet. He could have kidney issues. How old is your cat?

Clean your litterbox more often and way better. Usually the reasons why they'll piss elsewhere in order are 1. not being fixed 2. territorial/change in environment 3. litterbox isn't to their standards. Their standards aren't yours so maybe you should just do it more often than whatever you are now.

edit: Also get his scent off that couch asap. He'll piss in the same spot if his scent is there.

Also, did you just get that couch from someone or did you have someone new sit on it that may have brought in foreign pet odor? That'll do it too.

Have you changed his feeding times or been spending less time around the house? My pussy will sometimes pee on my clothes if we go off on a vacation or if I work long hours and am not home.

This kind of behavior either says that your pussy is mad, it's sick, or feels threatened.

Clearly your couch sucks. Get a new one.

I agree with SLG: check his litterbox first.

I haven't taken him to the vet because it doesn't look like he really needs to (I had a cat once who had an UTI, and he isn't behaving like this one did). He's pretty active, especially last night when he went out for a little while and caught a mole. Right now, it probably looks like stress from being cooped up indoors over the winter. I will take him in if anything changes, though.

If someone kept me indoors all winter I'd piss on their couch. What is it, one of those creepy hairless things?

He likes to bites me, but he's only playing when he does that. There's no malice involved, he saves that for the creatures he catches.

Ha! I worked for that dude when he was shooting his show in San Francisco. He was nice but his hipster producers were jerks. I was a little late (I can only go as fast as traffic will allow) coming back from Starbucks with his Quadruple Soy White Chocolate Latte with Low Whip and an Extra Shot so they fired me.

I think there is a spray to prevent cats to keep doing .. in the same area.
I never any problems with my cats, but I never buy the spray.
Too much indoors for your cat?
    Get a littler box.

Cats...sorry, they're worthless. Kill it and eat it in order to gain its worthless power of ******** in a box in your home and wrecking your furniture.

I'd suggest a bigger box, myself.

Well, Billy's going to see the vet tomorrow morning (it was the soonest we could get an appointment), and besides maybe one more incident, hasn't been urinating on the couch. He acts okay, but he definitely should be looked at, if for just a regular check-up,

Well, he's okay, nothing wrong there, the vet said he must've just had behavioral problem. He got a clean bill of health, and a shot.

That's good news. At least you can eliminate that as a potential cause.
