ok this goes back a ways...if I'm right then this was probably changed for the THX versions.

ok you know the scene where Leia is talking to Jabba and she's asking for the bounty on Chewbacca. I could have sworn she tells him what kind of currency she wants, or maybe it's Jabba or 3PO that says it. I want to say it's "kip" that is negotiated, but I may be way off. Please tell me I'm not completely hallucinating. I've been swearing for years that I didn't dream this up and I was never smart enough to ask someone heh.

Maybe in the radio drama, not in the film.

ok ok ok...I'm still not convinced it didnt happen.

It would have been subtitled. It was never spoken. Is it possible that the subtitles could have been changed by a distributor? I want to say that I got it off of HBO. They used to show TESB and ROTJ when you couldnt get them on video and I recorded them back to back on a VHS and used to watch them all the time. I swear Leia asks for 50,000 "kip" from Jabba for Chewie. Maybe it was just screwed up subtitles and that wasn't a unit of money and that word just accidentally got put on there?

It never happened. The amount is discussed by the type of currency is not.

It was never in the movies, the storybooks, the novels or the screenplays.
I do not have the radio dramas, however, so I guess it could be there.

It's possible that HBO had there own subitiles and that someone felt a little creative while writing them.
