I don't think so. If there is, no mention has been made, even when everyone was listing the discussion threads for the Newbie guide.

I think we need a character Discussion thread for Palpatine. I know I have a hard time writing him (especially post ROTS) and generally just re-arrance my fics to avoid him altogether.

Anyone want to start one?

 

I remember there was KEPP - Kill the Evil Palpy Project, which had a thread. But I wouldn't say it was a fan club ... mostly creative ways to kill him.

Actually, there are no character fan clubs here. That would be in the EU Community, as Jesina Dreis has said.

What we have here are threads for discussing characterizations for the purposes of writing/reading fan fiction, and indexes of fan fiction pertaining to certain characters.

However, I agree with the others that I don't remember ever seeing a thread devoted to Palpatine. The directory for characterization threads is Fan Fiction Index

If anyone would benefit from a Palpy character resource thread, I would be willing to start one.

I have been out of the SW universe for a while, but am getting ready to finish an audio drama I started that heavily features Palpatine, so I need to brush up.

Who in here writes Palpatine?? I absolutely love him ... as a character, that is. He's my favorite character to write. I have practically his whole life story planned out.

Perhaps we could critique instances of Palpy writing we've seen. I've got three up in the archive. Anyone care to critique my Palpy?? If you have a Palpy story, I'd be interested to read it.

 

I usually write more about my various original character offspring of Palpatine, but I do have two fics either going or in planning stages where he should be prominent for a while.

 

I think there would be an interest LLL. I really enjoy writing Palpatine, and I'm thinking it would be good to have an index of fics and maybe challenges.

 

I've written occasionally of palpy. My first trilogy had a wonderful opening monologue from him in the third part about the purpose of pain.

 

I would love to see a thread devoted to Palpatine. Reading some of the prequel-era novels, I generally just go "ooooh" at how he maneuvers everything to work to his advantage. Genius guy, really.

 

I would like to see a thread for discussing Palpatine and connecting with fellow authors who love writing the guy He's such a puppet master.

Hmm, how come when I saw the name LLL and the words 'character fan club' I new I'd be reading about Palpy when I got iside?

Hey, I used to be a Vader groupie, but then I realized Palpy is where it's at.

I try to look for Palpy stories and writers on here, but unfortunately I don't have the time to sift through pages and pages of topics. If there is a faster way, I don't know it.

? FOR ANY MOD:

Is there a right or a wrong way to get such a Palpy topic going in here? Is there anything that by convention is supposed to be done or included?? I've finished the other project I was working on and I want to finish this radio play before I start another one.

If there isn't already a Palpatine discussion thread (which I believe there isn't?), then you are more than welcome to start one. Just remember that it's supposed to be for discussion, and fanfiction related, but a little socialisation is okay.
