Woo-Hoo! Called in to w*rk this morning and got this message:
"Due to inclement weather, the office is closed today"

Time to relax, watch a movie or two, maybe suit up and play outside, and get some stuff done around the house! :D :D :D

Everyone stay safe and warm today!

    :)

A little ice and Dallas shuts down.

    Sweeeeeet.

Heh, I had to work the morning after getting 27.5 inches of snow. That was a fun ride to work I tell ya.

Gah... can this day go any slower? Last day of work! Yay!

    Edited for silliness...

LOL, well it doesn't happen all the time.

This is actually the first time I've worked somewhere that stayed closed the whole day due to weather...usually it's in by noon or whatever.

My company actually opened at 10 this morning, but screw that. I'm not spending four hours just to get to work.

The problem with Texas/Dallas is that there are too many southerners! :D I was at work today at 7 a.m. and am completely jealous of all of you who are off. Oh well, this northern boy had no problem driving in a little ice and snow. Watch a few Star Wars movies for me.

Eh, it's not the roads. It's the people on them. Driving on ice isn't all that hard, you just have to accept that you're going to slide a little, and to get a feel for how your car reacts. And not panic.

The problem is the other yahoos out there that go too fast, panic constantly, and just plain suck on ice.

Maybe it'll be better tomorrow. I'd love to sit home and watch tv season sets on DVD (DS9), but unfortunately, I CAN'T GO GET ONE YET!!!!!

Grrrrrr. Ice days aren't as much fun now that I'm out of school. :(

I'm right there with you Kevin. I had to be at my store at 9am and open by 10. Then i got to watch all the people who didn't go to work (cause of the ice) come to Blockbuster.

    /thinking mode on
they call in cause they can't get to work
they drive to blockbuster to rent movies
the kids walk miles to find a good slope to sled on (cause they couldn't get to school)
    /thinking mode off

It makes my head hurt!! And I'm jealous!! If you bastards wouldn't come to my store when you can't go to work, then I wouldn't have to work either!! But NO!! As long as you spend money, we have be open and risking our lives for your entertainment.

That's ok, cause i got to see so many good wrecks and falls out my windows today it was like... PAYBACK!! [face_devil] (especially you, you little 15 yr old idiot trying to skateboard in the parking lot on the ice... i hope that leg doesn't heal!!)

I'm feeling much better now... :)

I've been building sleds for the neighborhood kids all day (yes that means I've been supplying the evil you've seen running around outside your store Mike.) and man they're bratty. I think my greatest invention thus far has been the linoleum/skateboard deck has worked the best so far. Just rip the wheels off a skateboard and duct tape some linoleum to the bottom and you've got decent snowboard. Or maybe I should call it an iceboard.

Now its time to plot what I'll be doing tomorrow considering school was just cancelled for tomorrow as well.

I had to work yesterday, today, and if I wasn't off, tomorrow.

For those of you unaware, I work in a sports bar. Bar, open, ice on roads.

Yeah. Makes no sense to me, either, especially when we were the ONLY bar open on the entire Mesquite strip. Even Friday's and Razoo's were closed HOURS before. And we still had to be open until 2 A.M.

Again I say, Damn The Man.
