Icon Thread--Version 7: Don't underestimate the power of the icons...

Yeah, Photobucket is evil. My entire album got deleted somehow when they had server problems.

I use Photobucket.

Can anyone tell me of another free host that I could use to upload my icons to? I would really hate to have something happen, and I lose all my icons.

Any help is very much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I use Imagestation, which is free, but they onlé let you use jpegs.

I also use Geocities so I just save my icons on my computer, upload them, and put them on my site.

I use http://members18.freewebs.com/newAccounts.jsp Freewebs and it seems to work rather well.

Also, only 2 breast cancer icons will be uploaded. There are two up now. We might be rotating later, but I think we're set for now. Lots of people seem to be using them, and they will be up until halloween.

 

I was so excited! That's my first icon that was ever uploaded.

Here are my Halloween icons.

They're at the bottom.

They're the "Underworld" and "Van Helsing" ones.

 

Added four Bond icons on the left.

And Walken would be forever grateful if the Zorin icon were uploaded.

Dantana: They had the same problem when I tried to embed it in a post to show off in the Bar and Grille at the RPF. Copy the destination link into a separate browser window and it'll show up.

EDIT: Update made. Hopefully this works right. The two icons at the bottom are my past two updates, both aimed for Halloween with perhaps a slight possibility of my offering themn for regular use.

Besides one or two meager posts on the previous icons thread I've never really done this before. So here is my icons page.

I guess it's all explained (or over explained) on the site but the main point of it is to get the icon that fits my username uploaded if I can!

Interest spread from there & I've added some others from the OT.

Ack! Photoshop is messing up! Usuallé, the 50x50 parameters are set so I don't have to worré about anéthing but then it changed the parameters...and then it was grayscale...and then when I went to save it...it wouldn't let me save it as a gif file...I have no idea what's going on.

 

That's really odd. PC or Mac?

OK, I'm not quite sure what to do here, or what I'm doing here, but we at the Welcome New Users board think that there is a missing link between Oldbie and Newbie.

Middlebie sounds harsh, so a few of us came up with the term: Old-Newbies.

Do you think it would be possible for someone to do a design with that on it, seeing as I am more than a dummy when it comes to .gif, so I wouldn't want to wreck it.

So can someone help?

 

I think Middlebie sounds cute, IMO. But I guess I could come up with something...that is, when Photoshop starts behaving that is! If I can't do it, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who could.

 

[Gets a random idea.] I would, but I can't do good backgrounds for people that often. It's a wonder the Halloween ones came out good at all, despite their squishiness.

Yane - I think your Photoshop is just rebelling against the repressive PC Empire it has finally realized it is trapped in. It wants to return to its Mac heritage (although now I'm not sure it didn't start on PC... it figures).

Anyway, sorry I can't help - that's truly funky. But Mac OS 10.2 and up rules!

Cobranaconda - I'll give the Old-Newbie thing a shot too if I can find time.
