Icon Thread--Version 8: The icons are fine, we're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?

I made this blaster icon a while back as a request. Should I still put it in for a vote?

The European Football (Soccer) Championships -- the second biggest tournament in the sport behind the World Cup -- are coming up in a few weeks, it would be great if someone could make icons. The official website should tell you everything you need to know. Thanks!

 

Those have already been requested in Mod Squad, so I am pretty sure we will have something up for the Championships.

 

Aye, we have UEFA icons in the works/ready to go and will have them uploaded in time for the games.

They'll be gone from the site and/or uploaded here.

It's been awhile since I've seen the voting/icon page, but Theron this Dathomir Night Sister and this Dooku really stand out to me, on your page, against the rest. Nicely done. Your "Secret Apprentice" and Darth Maul icons are also very nicely done.

 

The Nos Monster requires an icon after years of waiting.

I like that Nos Monster icon.

Just out of curiousity, I couldn't find any Ewok Adventure Icons. Do we have any? Isn't there a law that states we must have a Wilford Brimley icon to even have a respectable forum?

There are so many characters to exploit in that series. Cindel, Mace, the Gorax.... hop to it people!!

I'm cracking the whip on you guys and gals now! No more Aayla Secura icons until we get some of these accounts settled!

 

Well I've made them in the past and they never get voted for so I stopped making the Ewok series. I'll look for the ones I've made and upload them to the fan-files site. I've seen some of the really awesome EU icons that you guys have made and are voting on. Just wondering if there is going to be a flurry of EU icon uploads like last summer? Can there be?

The Nos Monster and Ackmena icons look great, but we need more! Drop what you're doing and focus in on the stuff from the Holiday Specials, Ewok Adventure films, and cut movie scenes. Every icon must be exploited from the live action areas before the EU.

Well I just think there are some glaring gaps in our icon database that other sites (the official site) have taken care of already. I was thinking maybe we could have a summer of "filling in the gaps" before moving on to the new star wars stuff in the fall. Especially since there are no major holidays coming up, now would be the perfect time.

I mean right now, I can say we are missing Ryoo Naberrie yet we have the rest of the Naberrie's. I say we go after the Ewok Adventure, Holiday Special, and things that we glossed over. Search the official site databanks and old star wars images. It could be fun.

 

I'm up for a "fill-in-the-gaps-athon".

It's just that (speaking for myself) source images are not always easy to come by. It wasn't easy getting source material from a bootlegged tv special. And sifting through old pictures, comparing them with what's been uploaded and what others have made that may one day be uploaded is time consuming. I'm not complaining - I had fun looking for Holiday Special material - just offering an explanation for why my focus has been elsewhere.

If you see a good source image it would definately be great if you link it here. I'm not saying "Don't make a suggestion unless you bring your own image", just that it's helpful. And certainly continue to point out who needs an icon.

Maybe we should reach out more to the regular userbase and get their help finding images and getting feedback on what they want to see in icons.

omg I've never seen the Ewok Adventure, but after making some icons I seriously need to see it. It looks hysterical.

These icons are looking great. Maybe there shouldn't even be a vote. Upload the Ewok Adventure icons, Nos Monster, Ackmena, Nute Gunray, Veedaaz etc!
