Icon Thread--Version 8: The icons are fine, we're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?

There's a tall Jedi Padme icon up.

 

There are two actually.

 

After 10 years, I'm pleased that a good portion of the icons I designed are still in use. Maybe I'll make a few new ones.

That is all.

They may not be the best, but I did what I could with the sources available to me.

Thanks. I realize there's a lack of icons for the Dark Knight himself. I'll make more icons once I'm sure they'll be uploaded; at this point I'm just hoping I read that main page right.

Theron, you have a very nice Zayne icon there.
Speaking of which, where can we vote on new icons? I would really like to get a Zayne avatar, other than those two existing ones because tons of people where I post use them.

How (and where) can we vote for new icons?

 

I NEED a Valenthyne Farfalla icon PLEASE...anyone! If someone advises me how to make them I will do it. Also, I am happy to have his ship (the Fairwind) if that is all that can be had. Please let me know if this is a possibility. Thanks

 

To those of you asking how the voting process works, please take a look at the opening post of this thread. It explains how the process works and should fill you in on the details. Feel free to ask me anything via PM as well!

I think we might start a new icon thread soon...the opening post needs to be updated and it's getting a bit crowded in this one.

There's a "most popular" page in the admin tools but I still see 1 vote for each on the main pages as well. That needs to be showing more than 1 though since it's obviously tracking them - I'll see what I can do.

So you have to actually submit an icon - let it get voted on for acceptance - before you can use it?

 

Yeah, but DV tends to be lenient towards requests, and if you post a good source image here of the character you want, a couple of us may take a swing at it, making it more likely to be uploaded here.

The bigger the better, really. So of the ones you posted, I'll try using the one from Wookieepedia. Of course some great images simply don't lend themselves well to icons. That is really impossible to tell before you actually try to make the icon though.

And even better news I finally found a pattern for the icons that get forced transparencies! All of the damaged icons (at least all of mine that are damaged) have one thing in common: in their perfect, undamaged form, they have no transparency. This means that were I to add transparency to any of those icons, they would be fine when re-uploaded.

Though oddly, there are two or three undamaged icons with no transparency. Don't know about that

EDIT: Yep. Altered a damaged icon by adding transparency, uploaded it, and the new one is fine, albeit a worse icon IMO
