Icon Thread--Version 9: The icons are merciless. They take everything from you.

What's gone on in this thread, jeez. The icon thread used to be a nice place to come and talk about icons, now it seems like everyone is complaining about something.

Constructive criticism has always been one of the first rules in the icon thread...really, in any thread/forum when people's work is on display. Honestly, no one expects to post their work and be told it's "awful" or "terrible", especially without any advice on how to improve; suggesting a new icon isn't really substantial advice. If things keep up like this, it'll be a sad day for icons. If someone's work isn't up to snuff or isn't "out-of-this-world amazingly fantastical", then try and encourage better techniques; if you don't know any improved techniques...then I think it's best the comments are kept to yourself.

As for the Christmas icons still being up, it's not an act of treason; we're going through a shift in management so things are bound to lag a bit...even seventeen plus days. I really don't see that as a need to constantly post your grievances...as with anything else, I'd suggest you take it to a Moderator/Admin if you feel you must be heard.

Thanks to those of you who have posted your thoughts (especially those of you who repeated my desire for patience until DV gets back). However, I'd like the thread to move forward until I get the goods and start the new one.

So - is anyone interested in turning Jolee into an icon?

 

I am, and I have a Juhani icon on my icon page as well that I's like to see up.

By the way, the LACWAC, Lit, and EUC mods are going to help me plug in some holes we have with material from recent releases

Also, I now have the power to remove icons (but not add them). Just to let you all know, tonight I removed:

-the football (minus the two teams currently there and the generic one)
-the Winter Holiday icons
-the NaNoWriMo icons (since that's over)

Valentines Day icons are starting to go up (who knew we have 25 candy heart ones?). All the ones that we currently have should go up tonight.

And I think Grimby can teach me to upload new icons, which will be a weekend project (especially some of the new TCW ones). When I'm positive I can, I'll start a new thread

Tunick, your color of choice is red, which is a VDay color, so suck it up and put on a mushy icon

I don't use red for it's V-Day connections!

 

And red is kind of like pink, another V-Day color . . .


Over half of the valentines icons are up (under JC Forums, ir just New Icons) and the rest will go up tomorrow
