ST Iconic moments in The Force Awakens?

Final shot will certainly be 'the' one.

 

Rey pulling the saber from the snow doesn't do it for you? That scene actually brought a lump to my throat and just hammered home why SW is and always be a huge part of my life. It was amazing!

 

The iconic moments for me were:

1. Luke reveal
2. Han and Chewie running into the Falcon then Han saying "Chewie.. We're home"
3. Finn and Rey igniting the lightsaber for the first time
4. Han dying

There were many more but these ones stood out to me the most

Good shots all round but the whole tone of the birth of Darth Vader was somewhat ruined by the truly awful "Nooooooooooooooo!!!"

 

I also meant to add... the Maul sliding doors then saber reveal shot was amazing but imagine how much better it would have been if they didn't reveal that in the trailer? Especially since his first dual was with one blade. I would have been floored

 

Rey force pulling the light saber and igniting it is #1 for me


Honorable mentions

-the fallen star destroyer shot
-"Chewie we're home"
-"It's real - all of it"

those 3 are iconic to me as much for the trailers as for the movie. I must have watched those a hundred times with a lump in my throat knowing this new trilogy was going in exactly the right direction

 

How about the scene where Han and Leia see each other after who knows how many years? It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it!

 

Wait where was that scene from, that shot is really good!

Some more were the bridge scene yes, but also the first appearance of the "old garbage" Falcon when they were looking for a ship to fly in.

And the whole "Sanitation?!" line from Ford.

 

I'm glad others are mentioning these first two. They aren't exciting, OMG moments from the film, but they pack a visual punch and do a lot of world/character building.

What we see as cool moments now are not what will necesarily be seen as iconic down the road.

The wide shot of Kylo and Snoke may be memorable; I can see it being isd in articles, blog posts, etc.

But yeah, the saber going to Rey and the shot of Luke at the end. woot

 

Han's death will be the most remembered scene from the film. Luke's reveal at the end too.

 

Why wouldn't it be possible? Ben Kenobi said that the force can control your actions, which is exactly what happens when Rey shoots the first stormtrooper: she fires and misses by a mile, re-aims and hits dead on. she stares at the blaster in amazement, "What just happened?" The Force is using her more than she's using it - which is what Kenobi said can happen.

For the interrogation scene I think that she felt what Ren was doing to her and she turned that around to do it back to him.

For the taking of Luke's saber, I'm not convinced that she did that. Ren was pulling on it and when it finally flew at him it wasn't his, the momentum carried it right past him and to Rey. She looks totally surprised to see it in her hand, she certainly was not expecting that!

I *loved* that moment! She stands there, clearly thinking, 'Holy crap! What just happened? I have that lightsaber in my hand!' And then she looks up and thinks, "OK, Ill use it!" I LOVE that!

 

Han and Leia's hug. Carrie Fisher has come in for a lot of unwarranted OTT criticism, but her eyes in that scene said everything.

2. The end with Luke Skywalker was definitely iconic
3. Rey pulling the saber past Kylo's face
4. Falcon Reveal

 

Rey summoning the lightsaber. When it flew past Kylo (with him having to lean out of the way) and into her hand and the music came up, I got chills.

 

I like all the responses TFA had a number of iconic moments/shots but I also believe certain shots I had high hopes for fell alittle flat like the tie fighters in the sun beautiful looking shot but kinda felt out of place. Also entering mazs pub was alittle underwhelming just my opinion though

Rey catching the saber and the resistance showing up as Finn/Han/Chewie were captured.

I liked the first time we saw Ren's saber too. And the very start where the ships fly out from behind a FO cruiser in front of a moon. Looked incredible in 3D

 

I felt there were several truly iconic moments from the film.

(1) Rey flying past the downed Star Destroyer/living in old AT-AT
(2) Han/Chewie "We're home"
(3) Han's Death
(4) Rey catching the Saber
(5) Luke Reveal

 

Luke at that cliff, though...

 

Have to say, SK Base destroying the Republic, even though I wish it we saw more or something before, it was X1000 times more emotional than destruction of Aldderon. I really enjoyed every time.. Some of the shots, like the one that pans around Kylos face with the glare of the sun beams as hes looking out of the Star Destoyer, incredible...

 

1. The lightsaber flying to Rey's hand.
2. Kylo standing on the walkway and saying "What do you think you'll see if I do?" Almost a question to the audience of what they expected to see if he removes the mask.
3. Rey strapped to the interrogation table with Kylo Ren crouching and watching her. **creepy, yet so perfect**
4. MF flying through the desert chased by TIE fighters.
5. Snow sizzling and steam rising as Rey and Kylo do battle.
