Master-Kenobi - Neat Maul and Chewbacca icons. Unfortunately, the Anakin icon looks slightly flattened--maybe you should try fiddling with the proportions?

Sorry, Amidala. I've been waiting for a Lando lego for years. He, along with Han and R2 are favorite characters of mine and I love legos of them. Leia is great as well.

Umm . . . Hi

I don't want to interrupt, but I feel a little out of place. I'm not an Icon-maker, but I have a question about the icons on this board.

First, let me say thank you for all the fabulous icons (all of) you have created. They are really great.

My question is this: Are there any restrictions on the use of these images? I mean, is permission from Lucasfilm required for use of the images?

This is one of those intellectual property questions. Why am I asking? Because I'm a nark . . . er, I mean, just kidding .

Seriously, I'm managing a small web-based forum at my work and one of the users worries that my use of "copyrighted" images as user icons might be in violation. I figured that you have already asked this question and have an answer.

Published images, such as from movies and books, we usually consider free to use. They are public, and we're not making money off of them.

Images from artists that aren't published, such as fan art, I usually ask permission before using them.

As for using icons from icon makers, asking permission is probably best. Especially since they'll probably be flattered.

This is pretty much the way I see it but maybe the mods have some more info on exact legalities.

 

I like Bria's "Dani" icon. In fact, I think that the Literature forum could use some more of the Marvel comics' characters like Kiro. It's only been recently that we've gotten Plif and another Hoojib.

 

Malz4JESUS: I like your Qui-Gon with lightsaber icon. Just shut up is great too.

skywalker325: I think your facial close up of Tiin is the best one.

Darth China: I didn't know that Palpatine up for votes was yours. I think it's great. Your Wat Tambor is good, but too dark. I think lighting him would make it look better.

Theron: I like your Biker scout. Nice rancor and Old Ben too.

C-3PX: Nice work with Indy. Perhaps a little closer in on the shots would be better though?

Dubya_Scott: Bobo. I like it. Nice SOTME icons too.

JoinTheSchwarz: Great Odan Urr. I never was happy with the version I made of him, but I like yours.
