LadyNaberrie Your program could be dithering your icons to make the file size smaller. See if there is an option somewhere to stop that. Don't be hard on yourself when you're just learning.

I just noticed that an "Episode III" icon section was created, and I was wondering what kind of Ep. III icons we will have. Will spoiler icons be allowed? And, what can people consider spoilers?
I mean, someone can consider a spoiler an icon of Padme in one of the outfits she'll wear in Ep. III, or a new ship introduced for the first time in this movie; but on the other hand, everyone will consider a spoiler an icon of a major event, etc., such as this one (copy & paste the link).

So, what is the spoiler icon criterion gonna be? ?

All right. I haven't looked at the spoiler policy yet since I don't even visit the 3NS forum... yes, I really fear spoilers.

 

Being one of the Spoiler mods, I know what is potential spoiler material. The icons will not have spoilers in them. Fan Art and/or Official Site images (when available)is what to expect in that category for the near term.

 

What do you guys use for your icons?, I mean web space?

 

Note: Please be aware that not everyone is spoiled for Episode3. Make your icons accordingly. A spoiler stops being a spoiler when it is posted at the Official Site (ie, a name, image, story/plot idea, etc).

Jedi_Learner There are a lot of great "youngling" icons floating around out there on various people's sites. You can click the link on the first post in the thread to check out all the icon makers' sites.


DarthPadme Dithering blends different colored pixels together to make them appear like another color with a limited palette. I made a mistake when I said it makes a smaller file size...it actally makes a bigger file size. I always get that backwards. Anyway it can make images look grainy.

 

Awesome icons, G-S, i like the ones that ae marked for upload, but i would love to see the top Obi-Wan drawing pic uploaded.

 

Hmm, the link to the page of Icon Makers is not working. I have this one created by Crimson-Larko, which is excellent. However, it needs to be updated since we a lot of new talent among the icon-makers. Perhaps a new page is needed.
