I'm gonna et enough flack for putting a SW sticker on, kindly supplied by Mr Chan.

I doubt I'll give it the paint job too, but if I did... I think Ani's Pod colours would be cool with that symbol on the Hood!

    :D

I want a car exactly like Kitt, aka the Knight Industries Two Thousand.

What are my chances, I wonder?

If you're quick, there's a Hot Wheels model KITT on TradeMe right now, but the auction closes in 3 hours (10:00pm, Thursday, 15 August) and is currently at $40! :)

Other than that, I'm afraid the chances are very small and are getting less and less as the years go by. Sorry. :(

That model Pontiac is now 20 years old and difficult to find in decent condition (not that it was easy to find here to begin with). If you do manage to find one they tend to cost a fair bit.

Add to this the fact that it'll cost you somewhere between about US$8000 - US$25,000 for a decent to excellent KITT conversion (not including shipping parts to NZ).

It's even getting harder to find a KIIT-like car since manufacturers seem to have moved away from pop-up head lights these days. :(

My car doesn't have popup head lights, but the radio station goes from

    75-89fm

bloody jap import - I can't get ANY fm stations!

The guy in Sound Around said I'll need a band expander thingy - $70 :(

I may buy a new head beck from the Warehouse - mum can get a discount off. One of those "REACTOR" head decks I think.

You know, I'm almost tempted to get that model KITT. But after paying that price for a tiny little car, you'd feel guilty about taking it out of it's packet, which means no driving it around reliving favourite episodes, and doing turboboosts over your pet cat, so that kinda ruins the fun.

    lol Kitt.

I took my car for a drive today. Guy has to sort out registration etc so I'll be picking it up tomorrow afternoon.

I may have to take a digital pic or two and post them. :)

It's hard on the resale value though. :)

You'd either have to find another Star Wars fan or get it repainted.

you could cut a hole in the boot a get a mate to sit in there with a blue helmet.

I'm sure the cops would be understanding.

    :D

//imagines emergency stop with guy getting decapitated by hole in boot with head sticking out//

    [face_plain]

Polystirene dome - ie: painted like R2 may work - then glued onto the boot. :D

It still needs the "X wings" though ... perhaps four BIG pieces of cardboard.

And for the Naboo starfighter an LONG cardboard tail.

    ;)

    LOL! [face_laugh]

    How about a Star Destroyer? :D Just use some cardboard to make that triangle shape and when you're driving down the road it will take up two lanes! 8-}

But that's gonna attract some police officers too... [face_plain]

lanes? lanes are for loosers! I take the footpath!

200 points for Old Granny with walker. :D

Pity, we got an AA apraisal done on it (before picking it up) and the AA guy heard some noises in the CV joints - so the guy is replacing them. Picking it up tomorrow. It's all insured and registered.

    :D

    watch out grannys!

    just kidding!
