Except that's completely and demonstratively false, as the Secret Service did not begin to protect the President until 1901.

Edit: Incidentally I didn't know that before, it takes literally 30 seconds to fact check. The "Secret Service" Lincoln created was a branch of the Treasury, and didn't resemble the modern conception of the Secret Service; nor would it have been in a position to prevent his assassination owing to their being solely devoted to anti-counterfeiting measures at the time.
