MY guess, NO. I say this, because Obi-wan is at nearly his full potential, and if Anakin had gotten far enough, he could surpass him and the fight wouldn't have been as evenly matched, causing Obi-wan to lose his Master edge.

Since you actually posted something on topic, I thought I'd reply:

I don't think the answer is "no", I think the answer is "maybe". Obi is crafty, and knows Anakin well, because he trained him. Obi also knows how to avoid getting killed, so Anakin may not be able to dispose of Obi so easily, even with his great power.

The opinions on this keep going round and round.

I still think it's far-fetched to think that no matter how powerful Anakin got, Obi-Wan would always be a step ahead of him.

And i can totally understand that. I just think that Anakin"s Mental state and his abilities are two different things. If he kept his cool , and thought things through , he would likely be unstoppable. but he never does, so i say Obi could always stand a good chance.

 

Agreed, but I think that we need to accept the possibility that Anakin could win. Otherwise, what's the fun in "What if?" thread. How about if we change it to, "If Anakin had Reached his full potential and kept his head, then would he have beaten Obi-Wan?"

 

True enough,If he reached his full potential, I doubt anybody could beat him, but man, he would have a long way to go before he got there. He'd be as old as Yoda.

Other "people," Frodo most notably, have postulated that for every ounce of strength Anakin would have gained had he reached his zenith, he would have taken in an equal amount of "lunacy" along with it. I disagree, and it's a moot point, because regardless of how potentially "loony" he got, his power would still supercede it. Remember, he was "nuts" in the film, but he still almost won.
